Question 1999 Cupholders - better option?

I just bought a 1999 TL, and I love it. But I hate the cupholders in the center console - surely someone has come up with something else that can go in there that will actually keep my cups upright?

Welcome to AcuraZine!

You'll find lots of useful info in this section. Many issues have been discussed before, so take advantage of the Search feature - you'll finds a lot of information that way too.

Yes, you can purchase the cupholder insert (plastic insert-only) used in the '02/'03 TL's and throw them in your '99. The part should only cost you ~$8 CAD or the equivalent in USD. Many people have had the dealer misunderstand which part they want and have quoted the price for the entire centre console - so don't freak out if they tell you the cupholders'll cost some ridiculous amount of money (just clarify with them the actual part you need).

Enjoy 'em!

Thanks.

Comments like this are tiring. Everyone was new at one point. You have only been here 1 yr. Comments like this are not needed. If you want to suggest a search, thats fine, but no need to come off like that.

wow.. harsh.

i got mine at the dealership for 4 dollars.. all i had to do is go in there and ask for the 02-03 TL cupholders. then they searched it up on their computer and brought it out for me. its an awesome and really useful investments. its only 4 bucks too so its not a big loss at all.

Thank you everyone - I'll be heading to the Acura dealer this weekend.

Also, after I sent my follow-up post, I realized it wasn't totally clear. I originally did a search for "cupholders" (one word) but got no results. It was only after I posted my question that I thought to try and search for "cup holders" (two words). Guess I learned my lesson.

Wow! I never knew there was such a huge difference. That 03 cupholder looks a lot more effective. I think I will invest a few bucks just because my cupholders constantly piss me off.
