187... 300zx down on western!!!
sup guys. just thought id share this. i was on western heading home...(ktown)... then i spoted a 300zx up ahead. as soon as i got to the light.. boy starts revving... so i said... why not.. its 330am..this will be fun. i gun it.. he guns.. before you know it.. im about a good half car length ahead.. then the next light turns red.. we stop. he looks over.. and says.. again!!!! sure why not. (but this time.. the dreaded vsa hurts me) i guess the light before i got enough traction before hitting the painted stripes of the crosswalk so my wheels didn't spinout out too much. but the 2nd time.. not so lucky. he was a good car length ahead.. and we were going maybe 15mph. so the next light... i say again!!!. with VSA-off. on a length of street about a 1/4 mile long.. i left him. hahaha.... kid comes up on the next light.... shaking his head.. puts his head down in shame. hahaha.

hummm.........this is a good one. You beat a car with more 40 more hp and 70 more ft/lbs torque than you. Not to mention is lighter oh and RWD. That's a very believable if you are racing in the snow but I think that's not the case. Good story . Wanna buy a bridge? I got one for sale.

you MUSt have raced a non T . I race my friends 300zx non T. I barely took him. He got me off the line but I got him later down the strip. He was a racer so he had good launching skills. If its a turbo 300zx. All you be seeing is the bumper. good race though. Yeah watch out fo those rwd. They got some power

Having VSA on will only hurt you if you can really feather the pedal off the line well. If you can't feather the pedal precisely VSA will probably benefit you. I think people have done runs on the track and shown that the VSA doesnt have too great an affect. Another little trick you can pull off at the line is to creep your cars front wheels past the large white line, especially if your sitting on stock tires. Our tires are very sensitve to different road surfaces (ie. sewer covers, paint lines, new ashphalt). Happy racing.

Being that I have a 300ZX 2+2 NA manual, I can tell you for a fact that you were racing a non-turbo. The 300ZX is a pig off the line. Trust me I can drive and I know that car like the back of my hand. It makes all of it's power from 3600 RPMs and above. The Z is a lot heavier than you'd think too. It's up and around 3000-3500lbs.

The 90-96 non turbos 5spd 2 seater Z's were like 7.1 sec to 60, and the auto was 8.3 looking at an old C&D. You shouldnt have a prob with those at all being that you have an auto!
