180 turn
Probably the wrong place to ask this, but how do you like...do a 180 in the TL...or cars in general?...like.hwen driving along a road, and you want to do an instant u-turn at a high speed, how do you do that? (Yes i know it screws up the tires). Doesn't it involve braking, turning sharpy, and the e-brake?

What's this got to do with second gen TLs? BTW, try googling on 'bootleg turn' to get answers to your questions.
Bootleg turn, forward 180:
1. maintain forward speed at 30 mph
2. disengage clutch
3. engage emergency brake simultaneously w/ step #4.
4. w/ left hand, turn wheel from 12 o'clock position to 6 o'clock (clockwise for left 180 turn, counter-clockwise for right 180 turn. Note: left 180 is preferred for US driving)
5. return to 12 o'clock position and disenegage the parking brake once front end reaches 90 degrees.
6. shift into first, re-engage clutch and accelerate away from danger

there are MANY MANY ways to do it. The E-Brake is the easiest wa to do it

Yeah the foot brake is fine. I haven't done one in a long time since I'm trying to save my tires, and I dont need any traffic violations. I would be going straight, then I'd pop the foot brake, flip the wheel, and pop the foot brake back out as the car is spinning and then gas it.

TCS OFF!! best way for the TL is to push the e-brake just slightly and then again as to unlock it but dont let it all the way out (this way you can engage and disengage easily). then u do your thang.
i want to attempt a 360 now that my tires are bald. just need some rain and a video camera.
180 is more fun on my bmw. i keep the car in second, turn outwards and as i'm turning back into the u-turn i shift lock (press clutch in and then drop it w/ some gast), my ass oversteers like there aint no tomorow, ct.steer + moderate ammount of gas and you're in business. i'd do it in 1st but my car donesn't like rev-matching shifts into first.
but this is probably NOT the fastest way around a u-turn. drive nicely!

my friend learned the right way to do this at stunt school. i think he said you pull the e-brake and very slightly turn the wheel in the direction you want to spin. once the tires catch itll whip the ass around to form an almost perfect 180.
he also said that each stunt driver blew about 2-4 sets of tires in the learning process. keep that one in mind...
