15k service WEIRD...

I went in for my 15K service today and it was more expensive than I thought it would be. I paid $202 for the service and $69 for alignment. The weird thing is that my tires are thin already. The service guy suggest that I get new tired and I have my car for less than 10 months. I jsut slammed my car about one month ago and they are balding already?? kinda weird to me. Anyways Should I get new tires or should I use that as an excuse to get some rims and tires. What are the prices people pay for service at 15k. I guess my camber is really bad. need to bent some bars or get a canber kit.

What they do for your 15K service? I thought the alignment should have been included as part of the service.

Naw, alignment is extra. My dealership only charges 50 bucks for the alignment, though.

If I wasn't so lazy I'd get my receipt and list what they say they checked...

I think its Oil Change, Change or Clean Air Filter, Lube chasis, Check brakes, ummmI think thats it.....I brought mine in and it was a TOTAL WASTE of money. I have AEM so they could do the air filter. I run Mobil 1 Synthetic so I didnt need an oil change and the brakes were fine. So I pid 80 bucks for them to put my car on a rack and look at it for 10 minutes. I think the normal was 170 but no oil, no filter so they charged me 80.

Lube chassis? There are no zerk fittings on these cars, and no lube points. I questioned that one a while back, and the dealer told me they sprayed silicone lube on the C/V boots - well, I do not allow silicone near any rubber on my car, provifded documentation to back up my outrage (it was technical), and made them clean off all the garbage they put on.

Lube chassis...what a rip off.

Does silicone degrade rubber??
If so, do you have a copy of that documentation you're talking about?

I was just gonna say, what is there to lube on the car? When it comes down to it, you are overpaying for a more complex oil change if you even need one at that time. You can get a list of things that are to be done at each service interval and see how many are pointless and how many you can really do on your own.
What are you doing to your car if your alignment is that bad? Is the car lowered? If it is lowered more than 1.5 inches, you do need a camber kit.

I just paid $184, and that included a complete transmission flush, at my request.
