My TL is going to be 15K, and I was wondering what kind of eng. oil you guy use when changin it?? also I was wondering is it ok to use oil filter from the dealer??

thanx in advance for any suggestion, I read most of the thread that talk about which kind already but I just want to made sure before i start to perform.

 

Well, first of all I hope you have changed the oil before now. If you still have the factory oil in there that should have been changed at 3750.

Anyway, I use Redline Synthetic with a Mobil1 filter and I change it every 7500 miles.

If you use "regular" oil and get the filter from the dealer (which is fine) you should change it every 3k-4k or so......

 

what if i use either mobil 1 or amsoil with Genuine Honda filter, how many miles do i have to change it??

It depends on the specific oil you use, and your driving conditions. However, even if you are able to run extended drain intervals, you'll need to change your oil filter regularly.

Personally I wouldn't really go more then 7500 miles. The manual states if you do mostly highway miles you can go up to 7500 on regular oil.... so you should also be safe with synthetics. I would really recommend going any further w/o changing the filter. In addition.. if you do a lot of city driving I'd change it more frequently.

I do 95% highway driving... so I'm fine with 7500 miles.. but others may not. LIke eCo said... it really depends on your driving conditions....
