My TL is going to be 15K, and I was wondering what kind of eng. oil you guy use when changin it?? also I was wondering is it ok to use oil filter from the dealer??

synthetic mobil 1 is best w/ mobil 1 filter if you plan on driving to the 7500K oil changes. pure 1 filter w/ amsoil is also a good combo imo

if you go to the dealer you're sure not to void warrenty by using crappy oil. they will use oil that follows acura recomendations.

 

I am using Mobil1 5W-30 with Genuine Honda filter.

 

how much is the Mobil 1 filter and Amsoil filter cost and where can i get it at?? also if i decided to use either Synthetic Mobil 1 or Amsoil with Genuine Honda filter, how many mile do i have to change it??

i finally got around to flushing out my engine and changin it with Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and i used a fram oil filter. dont notice the difference really but the reason for me changin is because i heard its better for you engine and you can go longer to like 5000k instead of 3000k with regular oil.
price wise . . $5 bucks a quart for synthetic and bout $2 for regular oil . . . so its much pricier

 

Synthetic oil is the way to go... I have used a number of them and Mobil 1 is my favorite. I use in the family minivan. For the first time in my TL, is used Royal Purple and seems to be good, after a little research I though it might be a little better.
As far as the filter is concerned... dont chince out on it...
I DONT use Fram ..Ive actually taken a few of them apart, and they are crap. :yack: use either a K&N or a Mobile 1

What about Penzoil for oil and PureOne for a filter? What do you think of those products?

pureone is a good filter imo. some people have voiced concerns about possibly not getting enough flow since the pleats are pretty tight, but I think that's overstated. Lots of people use it with no issues.
