15K Mile Service

Is this for reals? Does the 15k mile service cost $200?!?!?!

This is ridiculous! What do they actually do for the 15k mile service? I'm just wondering because is there any way to bypass or alternative to do the same work, but for cheaper? This is unbelievable!!!

look in your leather profolio and it should contain info on the services. If memory serves, 15K service includes oil change, tire balance and rotate, fluid check. Yes, you can do it for less at your local trusty mechanic.

It's basically a very expensive oil change. I wouldn't recommand it. If you know how to change your own oil, I suggest bypassing it. As for the tire rotation, if you have a jack stand, you can do that yourself too. Just swap the front tires to the rear on the same side. If you like, I'll charge you $100 for the 15K service. As an added bonus, I'll even throw in a few quarts of Mobile 1

I'm not trying to single you out, but it continues to amaze me that people will buy $30K+ cars and then try to go cheap on the recommended maintenance...

i think it is reasonable. and I was satisfied with their services. And always free car wash by their mechanics. And you do get several items are changes and check ups. Such as wiper change, oil change, fluid changes, refills for several items and next 15k miles, charging battery and it is total packages.

I'll charge your battery for about $50... I will take your car for a long ride to accomplish that.

not most. BMW does. A few others do. But they probably factor that into the price of the car.

The 15K service is crazy! Most of that $200 goes to the oil change and tire rotation and balance. Everything else is just 'visual inspections'.
I bypassed the oil change and the Tire rotations (got new tires from NTB--rotations /balance come with the purchase) and paid $110 for my 15K!

So you basically paid $110 for the service tech to just look at the car and say, "everything checks out okay"? Heck, I coulda done that for you at half the price!
