coming up on 130k miles the transmission had the recall done to it back in the day but thats about it. just did brakes recently. is there any services coming up that the car will need? time belt, water pump, etc?

Should have timing belt, tensioner,and water pump replace if it had not been done yet.

those were due at 105/ 7 years- the timing belt water pump service- at about a $ grand or more depending

spark plugs, brake fluid flush, general fluid change on everything if never done
ps fluid..

sounds like it is time to dump the car.

the trans is probably a ticking time bomb which is a $2k fix. that coupled with needed the timing belt/water pump $1k. screw it. its been a great car for us though!

could use that money for maintenance on a down payment to a newer gen TL.

i was hoping the timing belt was actually a chain on her motor.

Or drives it until it breaks like me lol, but i do have a low mileage motor and a new rebuilt tranny for spare.

id rather trade ti for what we owe before it self destructs and is worth nothing.

thats exactly how so many TLs end up on the market at your mileage!!!

New owner doesnt know these things, comes on here after purchase and learns--now they have a car they cant afford to repair

even with the repairs and a stash for trans replacement- thats less than a years worth of payments on another car
If its new its got problems and higher insurance
If used you take the same chance the person buying your car did!!

wow!!! I just found a gen3 6 speed with only 30k for 15!! except owner not disclosing it needs a clutch and 3rd gear replaced and....lol

we are going to end up in an 04-06 TL this week. there's a few within 20 miles of my zip.

love our TL-S, its been a fantastic car but its time to let it go. cant afford a random $3k bill on a car thats maybe worth $8k. its such a shame because id get the water pump and tbelt done if i knew it was a worthy investment. we just need to dump it now while its running great with no issues.
