Always changed the oil with full synthetic Mobil 1 and filter at around 7000 miles. This time went with the Mobil 1 extended performance and the extended performance Mobil 1 filter. At about 9000 miles the dip stick showed a nice caramel color and just checked it at 11,500 miles and it still looks good, in between caramel and dark. So I am going to let it ride until gets dark. The EP is not cheap BTW but found a great deal on it. I`m pretty impressed with this product. Well worth the money spent!

Do a used oil analysis after to see how well it's holding up

Don´t rely on fluid color. Do a blackstone lab analysis to see if the oil is indeed holding up nicely.. In my TL it does hold up to the 13K point but I do 2 filter changes (1 with the oil and 1 at 6months/7500miles).

^ agree. Color doesnt mean much. But before you change your oil get a oil sample kit and take a sample and send it off to Blackstone labs. It will tell you how the oil and motor are doing.
