105k Maintenance

Its almost time for my 105k maintenance to be done. I bought the car with 88k on it and I havent done anything to it but change the oil and tires and I dont know if the previous owner did any type of maintenance on it either. I called the dealer a few month ago and if I remember correctly, they quoted me at around $1100. I think Ive read a on Azine where others have paid this price but is there any way to get it done cheaper? Can others tell me of prices they have gotten it done for and their experience with this maintenance? and what all is going to be done besides the water pump and timing belt? thanks

the labor is 6+ hours, parts run 250-350, so in the range of a grand is correct.
Most towns have a few honda specialist shops that are well equipped and trained for this job while offering lower labor rate than the dealer

There are some belt guide pullies and tensioners that ~should IMO~ be replaced for safety, and have the valves adjusted too.
New NGK Iridium spark plugs,
fresh coolant- not that recycled stuff at the shops.
Change the PS fluid while its all getting done. Flush the brake fluid once a year- every year!

You can save big by doing some things at home- like the cabin air filter
For a look at whats involved, see thread titled- 105 service completed, by Southern in gen3, same procedures.
