tell them you want ONLY honda timing belt and water pump- not aftermarket-
we have a member just lost the engine 20k after installing cheaper water pump
And to replace ALL the timing belt and ac tensioners, pullies- anything that moves/has bearings-- with the belts is worn out- new accessory belts of course- its cheaper now because they already took them off- install new ones while there
if not today it will be in 6 months with potential severe damage
Confirm they remove the `engine block drain bolt` to get ALL the old coolant out
IMexperience- a few valves will be out of spec, on a FI car, every little bit hurts.
Pay for the valve adjustment- a couple of hours labor and a few gaskets
Its combined with part of the same labor to do the rest of the 105-
I know the book says `If Needed`- and the only way to know for sure is to go in.. check each one with a feeler guage, at which point you adjust the ones that need!
Let the pro do that for you and it will sound like a 200hp sewing machine when you get it back- almost silent
Things not included in most shops 105 quote are p/s and brake fluid flush-
DIY those and save big
IMO- seafoam the gas tank and thru vac port now, the new plugs will thank you
DIY oil change with seafoam in oil for 30 minutes driving then change oil and filter
Amazing what comes out- gets captured by the filter
If your oil looks black already- install a new filter- do seafoam - change oil and filter
A new filter will catch more stuff than an older nearly full one can
You get a better valve adjustment when the surfaces are nice and clean and fresh oil has been installed recently

Peters Honda in Nashua NH did my timing belt, water pump, coolant, and accessory belt for $600 after a $50 coupon from their mailed ad circular. They had verbally quoted me about $650 from their price list but then tried to invoice me for $699, so I had to have them fix that before cutting the check.
You should do everything that 01tl4tl suggested for you. I was the guy who didn't know any better and had his valves popped!
I wish I was smart enough to have joined a forum like this and asked good questions before hand. Experience is a good teacher!

the new belts are worthless if you dont replace all the tensioners and pullies
The dealer didnt quote that in order to keep the initial ~bait~ price lower than competitors-
Service writer will call you after its apart saying they found them to be leaking or worn,,,extra $300 or whatever
If they dont even suggest them--bad place to do work on your baby
Being honest about it by telling customers- `this is the right way to do it`- protect your investment and the things that must turn with the timing belt!
Use an Acura/honda water pump for sure- it lasted this long- stay with same product.
ask the poster above about it or read his thread
