Question 105 Service

I need your input, I have 2003 tl with 113000 mileage, I am going to have the 105 service done this week for about $1600 from dealer, do I need to have the valve adjustment done or not, if I don’t have it done , I will save about $400.

Thanks.

Why don't you just look for an acura specialist shop to do it and save money?

^ that can also save you a lot of money. i would do the valve adjustment if i were you, my car is much smoother and more responsive after getting the 105k service done. go through the list of things the dealer does and remove easy stuff you can do yourself, like spark plugs and cabin filter. the dealer charges a lot for those.

agree- a private shop that does hondas and acuras will cost less and you can use the differance to get more parts and the valve adjustment, at least 2 will be out of spec and fuel injected cars are all about precision

do the spark plugs yourself and buy at parts store- or private shop do them

See the other recent 105-120 threads for details on what parts are a good idea to replace that dont get quoted in the starting price--tensioners-rollers- etc etc

Seafoam it- DIY- a week before, intake manifold and gas, and seafoam the oil then change it- so the valve adjustment will be perfect
