1 week old 2003 TL-S Anthracite for sale (NEW JERSEY)!!

I purchased a brand new 2003 anthracite metallic TL-S and it has 250 miles on it. Driven very easy as I was intending to keep it, however, all of the talk related to stolen headlights has made me weary and I don't want to have the constant headache running through my head .... It has been driven twice and is currently sitting in a garage .... make me an offer ...

Heh, any car will be at risk for theft, vandalism, etc. When I had my $1200 Corolla I didn't worry so much :-).

Nice car, enjoy, have fun, and don't worry. Life's too short to live dangerous. Instead, live everyday as if it's your last, and have no regreat.

Sound like a philosopher huh?

C'mon man be serious. Don't give up the car because of that!! Any car you get will have some headaches. You made the investment so enjoy it, you won't regret it!!

I would think the depreciation you'll incur would pay for a lot of deductable on your insurance if you are vandalized. Enjoy the car!

Don't worry about our headlights cause I've seen a new maxima and altima with both headlights ripped off.

Every car will have its share of problems!

I'm not going to move or close this topic b/c I'm really hoping that you're joking about selling the car b/c of headlight theft.

I mean, like the others said.. every car has it's problem. Get a good alarm installed and it should help....

you want to sell your car because your headlights (((might))) get stolen? That's one of the strangest things I have ever heard. Any car you get you will run the risk of SOMETHING getting stolen, no car is safe, HID or not. Keep your TL-S, good color, sweet car.........Hey, if you want I'll trade you my Accord V6 for your TL, it doesn't have HID, so you won't have to worry about that... Let me know..lol

DECIDED NOT TO SELL!!!

I'VE DECIDED NOT TO GO AHEAD WITH THE SALE OF MY BEAUTY AND WILL INSTALL THE COMPUSTAR SYSTEM (AND HOPE FOR THE BEST). A FEW QUESTIONS THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE ANSWERS TO:
1) IS $850 INSTALLED A GOOD PRICE FOR THE COMPUSTAR SYSTEM (THE NEWEST SS SYSTEM ... THE ONE WITH 1 1/4 MILE RANGE)??
2) IS THERE ANY ADDITIONAL SENSORS OR OTHER THAT I NEED TO INSTALL WITH THIS SYSTEM?
3) IS A BACKUP BATTERY ESSENTIAL?

Wow... you're going all out with this huh? I simply installed a shock sensor to the factory alarm and set it very sensative. Cost about $12.....

Finally... you made the right decision. Keep it!! There are more cars on the road to share the risk of stolen headlights with us. So our chances are reduced now. Don't let this little thing bothers you too much!! Enjoy it..

Just boobie-trap the HIDs and hope you don't forget to tell the dealer when you bring the car in for service.

Here you go guys

http://public.fotki.com/novawhitetyp...ensor_install/
It is an add-on sensor so if someone tries to f*ck with ur ride it will set off the alarm. Not a 100% for sure anti-theft method but anything will help Attracting attention to thiefs is a great way to deter them

if you are upgarding the entire factory alarm, and willingto spend that much, check out Clifford. They are much better IMO.

i hate to tell you but compustar is a way better alarm then the clifford ......but the alarm isnt gonna do any good if it isnt installed correctly.....by the way compustar won the the design n showcase award 2 years in a row at CES. the only thing that i would add to this alarm is a proximity sensor which will also protect your wheels to a certain extent ....to find out more about the compustar alarm go to compustar.org

I got off my lazy ass and did some searching and found prices around. Looks like $450-$700 is what people were saying.

I bought mine for $215 from ebay. Installed it myself. I even added the power windows (no module, just added relays) control. It's a nice, very nice system IMHO.

Sorry i missed this post but a supposed friend did mine at his shop and charged me 450 installed with a added proximity sensor and a mini piezo siren for the inside.

My friend says that the added siren on the inside makes the intruder 's panic more as it makes the car alarm sound even louder then it actually is ....its a high pitched siren and it just pierce's your eardrums .

Finally, something in this thread worth replying to! Got any info on that piezo siren? Sounds like a good mod for me!

I e-mailed Ron at streeteffectz and he told me $1000 for the Spread spectrum alarm with up and down windows. Is that to high.

Are you insane?

The depreciation and tax hit you will take on selling your car would pay for years and years of stolen headlights.

You have to be selling for another reason or you are insane.

Which is it?

hahaha ... I'm not a CompuStar rep so I don't want to spend 10-15 mins to type the spec of the alarm system. I simply stated the price since someone posted 400s and up (my opinion was extra). I'm not in school anymore so I don't write essays .
Besides, what do I get when I spend all the time and efford to write an essay about an alarm system when the manufacturer and magazines wrote a ton of essays (reviews) about it?
