'04 TL Have Creaky Arm Rest & Trailer Hitch?

Ok, I have two important questions about the new '04 TL.

1. Did they fix the creaky center arm rest? Geez the current one looks cheap with the thin plastic, cheap plastic "latch" and dab of pink grease on the latch...and it creaks when you or your passenger lean on it! I >love< the interior of my TL....except for that.

2. Can a trailer hitch be easily added?

Jeff-

Here's my '99 TL....

(the trailer looks aluminum but is hot dipped galvanized)

The trailer is for this....

I think I remember seeing #1 listed as a feature. Something about giving the car a personality and keeping it real.

arm rest, front or rear?

my front arm rest comes loose once in awhile... I have to open it and find the screws that fell out and put'em back in again so it doesn't make any noise.

The rust you see is on the "support" rods mostly I think....I do live in the great (over-taxed) Northeast....lots of salt on the roads in Winter. I try and keep it off but....and it is a '99, can't believe I had the thing over 4 years now! Where's the time go? If you like rust you should have seen the '84 Blazer I had...the whole back of the body rusted off the frame! Last GM I ever bought "Professional grade" my a$$.....I don't even know what the Hell "Professional grade" means??

At a 65K the tranny seems fine...but there is a "click" when she's cold and you first shift into drive or reverse. Dealer says it may be from the new (tighter?) tranny fluid it got at the 60K service....hope that's all it is, I plan on keeping it two more years

Definitely!

The mower will be a limited production model.

There will only be 250 TL MG (Monster Garage) editions with the mowing package.

I have the same stealth trailer hitch for my jetski and it was a VERY easy install.....i don't see how they could change it to be easier...afetr all it is a car, not a truck so a towing package would be out of the question

Cool re: rust

The black stuff on the bottom of the chrome exhaust caps is just carbon build-up. My '99 had the same look to it until last week. I took a plain table knife (no sharp or serrated edges) and some fine steel wool to it and it came right off. The steel wool with some polishing compound worked the chrome caps to a brilliant shine after the knife removed the carbon. Five minutes of gentle scraping and buffing was all it took.
