03 Tl-S non Navi possible trade 03 IS300 should I? Selling TL-s wheels/tires too.

I am seriously contemplating on selling my 03 Tl-S and making a purchase on a 03 Lexus is300. Have any of you guys driven these things? I love my Tl but really thinking about selling. If i do not sell I am going to sell my Tl-S wheels and buy some 18's and Go with the whole intake thing and prolly get a spoiler of some sort. I really like the M5 spoiler. I need any suggestions that will help me waive one way or another. My 3.2 is the Pearl White and is immac. 30,000 miles and has had No, problems what so ever. I even got it for about 22 grand. SO im not sitting in bad shape.

If anyone knows how much i could get for the car or even the wheels and tires please let me know. Thanks I love this site.

When I was in the market a few months ago I thought I wanted either the 03 TL-S or the 03 IS 300. After driving both it isn't even close. The TL-S is better in every way. I wasn't even that impressed with the IS-300 other than it looks nice.

I wouldn't sell your TL-S but if you do you probably still could get close to the $22k you have in it if it as described.

Good luck.

My cousin has an IS300. I drive it here and there. Suspension is sporty and hugs corners at really good speeds. However, the auto shift this is kinda hard to play with since they're actually on the steering wheel. Which makes it difficult to shift will turning. It's a great FR drive car. But, wouldn't you feel better to spank an IS300 with your FF drive car?! I think the IS300 is over-rated for what it is. My bro took is Celica GTS out to ButtonWillow raceway and was schoolin IS300's all day. Compared to a TL, it handles better and may look meaner. But, the TL is a great platform to start modifying with spending minimal amounts of dough to do it with. The Lexus on the other hand, is expensive as heck to modify. Shit, my cousin owns a jewelery shop, had his car for almost 3 years, and it's still bone damn stock. Parts are pretty expensive for that car from what I've seen. So, if you have cash to play with...then do it. But I suggest you stay true to your heart, love and cherish what you shared with the TL. Remember those moments when you've passed by those BMW's, Mercedes, and Audi's with a smirk on your face. Just remember.......

i was just in the market for a new car and i was trading in my 2001 Grand Cherokee in for something new... I looked at a few cars but ended up with the 2004 IS 300...

Ive had it for about 3 weeks now and well i think its a great car... it drives really well. the interior is alot smaller than the TL but you can really see the difference between an Acura and a Lexus finish... i think the IS 300 is a great car. its not as fast but i dont mind as much cuase its not my DD...

In my opinion they are both great cars and it really comes down to what you are most comfortable with.... i think its a hard choice... but good luck with it!

Unless you mod that thing, you will be walked upon all day by SUVs, minivans, and Civics and basically anybody else who thinks they own the road. Although the IS300 makes a strong case otherwise, the smaller interior and anemic power output has been the car's downfall. I would have thought that Lexus would have significantly upped the HP on that car by now...

Not to go O/T on this ... but there will be an IS430 ... (the SEMA one) in the near future ... at least that's what I heard last. No question -- IS needs a boost in HP. (Almost got it when it came out in 2001 ... but I got the TL-S instead ... never looked back!)

And you're right ... that engine IS expensive to mod. TRD stuff ain't cheap!

PS To the originial poster -- get rims/wheels. You will take a hit on depreciation now that the 3rd gen TL is out ...

IS430, only one made for a Tv Show, they took the engine from GS430 and modified into an IS300.

If they ever get the idea of producing a line of "IS430", im in...
