Had the same problem, turns out the bulbs have dual Filament. So mine was lighting up but half the bulb was blown out. Changed the bulb and fixed the problem.

The light will light up, but still be blown out.

There is a problem with one of the bulbs. Get a friend to help you check it out.

Or you could back into a parking spot in front of a store with big windows. That's how I check my brake lights.

Hey Shaddyprynce, double-check all of the rear brake lights including the hi-mount, as these guys previously suggested. Usually something simple, maybe try replacing the bulbs with proper lamp size # ?

If the lamp still stays on after verifying the lamps and recepticals are all good, then it's possible that there is a wiring problem within the circuit.

Inside the LHS trunk trim panel, there's a 6P wiring connector for the brake lamps.....disconnect it and see if the brake lamp still remains on. If it does, then there's either a short or a bad sensor.

Just use the keyless entry remote. Lock and unlock as you stand behind and watch for the lights. They all flash. Whichever one doesn't is out. Just replace all 4 if you haven't changed them yet. They're due by now. It's best to change them all together with the same bulbs so the intensity matches.

One question guys down in the states how much are aspec fender? Cause in Canada it's 300$ I'm kinda lazy to get a used one and sand and paint just wanted to know how much the fender is please thanks

Hey Shaddy....Don't know how much the "Aspec" fender would run ya down here, but ya still would need to sand and paint a new one .....the same as a used one ! What's different about the "Aspec" anyways ????

When replacing the bulbs with new ones, inspect the socket's connector for corrosion. May also want to apply a bit of dielectric lube to the base.

America has no 2g tl A spec, so you are on your own sir.
Unless you want a normal fender and drill the side marker hole yourself, then Goodluck. Just get the one from the dealer

This is a little confusing, is your "BRAKE" light on the dash coming on? The one that turns on when you press the e-brake?

But it's on without engaging the e-brake?

I wanna help but I'm a bit confused about which light you're referring to.

^ there is one light that lets you know when the e brake is on. There is another that says brake lamp and that's for when a bulb burns out or there is a problem with the brake electrical system

OK, I see, I haven't ever even seen that light on my 01CL-S. But I looked it up in the manual Page 22-138 of the TL FSM.
My first thought was that you need to refill your brake fluid reservoir, but that is the indicator for the other "BRAKE" light.
My next thought is to remind you that 4 of the 5 bulbs for the braking system are dual-filament bulbs (one filament is 3w and the other is 5w IIRC), so you should also do a night test where you turn on your headlights and check that four of the bulbs are illuminated and that these same bulbs plus the third (high-mount brake light) will glow brighter when the brake pedal is depressed.
Of course your bulb schema may be different than my CL, but the idea should be the same overall.

Yepthat's how the tl is also.
No need to do it at night though, you can test it in the morning. If the brighter filament is burnt the bulb will not shine at all
