I've had my 99TL since it came out and 'm little tired of the head unit's unconsistent behavior with the CD-Rs. After reading a couple of threads on this forum, I am thinking about replacing it with 03 headunit. Has anyone done that? Is '03 unit same dimensions as '99? and does it have CD changer capability? Any idea if it dislikes CD-Rs too?

yes, the 02-03 TL (not CL) 6 disc changer will work in the 99-01 TL's. you just have to make sure you not only aquire the head unit, but the stationary holder that goes on top of it. you cant use the 99-01's ghetto cd holder.

eBay or in here they usually go for about $200-$300

 

Couldn't locate any on ebay - been watching for about 2 weeks... How much the new one from Acura itself cost? Where else I can aquire one - online or in shop?

Yea... I bought mine directly from Acura and had them install it. I LOVE it. I can never imagine not having one!!!!!
