02 TLp Headlight Adjust

I've done a search and read a few post on it but when looking under the hood still have a question.

I did a 2" drop and now my headlights are WAY too low. I can see what I think is adjustment screw...10mm with a set of teeth like ring around it. My question is...if you loosen the screw do you move the teeth or does it move w/ the screw? It REALLY tight to get to the one on the drives side..as I'm sure you know, so before messin with it I just wanted to ask.

I read in a few post that many times it doesn't work or seems to be broken....I do 99% of my mods myself so am not lookling to pay the stealership just to adjust the headlights. If it's easy to break or doesn't work, I'd just let them do it so if it messes up they have to fix it.

I move the teeth to adjust my headlights and it's fine. The only thing is that I have to move a few complete circle before getting the right level, and the direction seems to be in reverse. The direction the arrow shows Up is actually down, while the arrow point to Down direction is actually up.

correct its backwards of the arrows. just stick a socket on them and start turning. id suggest doing it at night like 15 feet or so from a wall or garage door so you can see how far you have adjusted and can make both the same

I believe the spec for the aim on our headlights is 5cm below center. There is a circle in the plastic on the front of the headlight. Measure the distance from the ground to the circle. Then on the wall, put a mark 5cm below that measured distance, with the car 20 feet from the wall, that is where the top of the headlight cutoff should hit.

With your car being lowered you might be able to get away with 4cm lower but if the cutoff is any higher than that you will blind on coming cars.

i really cant figure where the adjuster is located. can someone please describe it to me?

also, what is the best height level the beam should be at if you are 15 feet away.

If unsure about adjustment- you dont have to go to the dealer
There are shops that inspect rebuilt cars and do Official Headlight Inspections- look for that in the phone book
They will set them right

The passenger beam is not level with the driver side- it goes out further to spot the road edge line and pedestrians
The driver side is down and in a little to not blind oncoming cars

The FED rule is headlight BULB must be MIN. 22 inches above the road
