hello guys! my 02 tls is started to form transmission problems, for example there is hesitation from 2nd to 3rd gear. and also sometimes when i put the car in drive the gear stick clicks idk what that is. anyways what transmission would be compatible with my car?

 

Ouch so they sell you a car on its last legs??? If you buy it from a Dealer you should make them fix it for you under warranty..


If you buy it from a Private Seller then your best bet is to Save up for an Accord V6 2006-2007 Transmission which is completely compatible with our car and its a lot more reliable than you current transmission..


What ever you do: DONT REBUILD YOUR CURRENT TRANSMISSION.

Rebuilding your current transmission is hit or miss. If it`s slipping gears you can try changing the fluid doing a 1x3.

Check the 2nd Gen's "DIY" sticky for tranny fluid replacement procedures.

The basic 1x3 Drain and Fill is simply draining the tranny's fluid pan reservoir and replenishing with a bit more than 3 Qts. Honda DW1 fluid. Some other simple things to try include replacing the spin on external ATF filter and cleaning the solenoid screens.
