02 Climate control

I've been looking at 02 TL's. Might end up getting an 00 or 01 RL but that's another story. Anyways, back to my climate control question. Keep in mind I come from an old Legend where climate control meant you turned the dial to the temperature you wanted and that was it. For instance, in winter I put it at 23c.

I was in an 02 tl today and there was a knob which turns. The knob had markings which were coloured blue when you turn it far left, red when you turn it far right and white in between. Just like in most cars that don't have climate control.

Can someone explain how climate control works in these cars. Maybe things have changed since the old days of my old legend.

Thanks

That would be the climate temperature control knob. I'm guessing the car wasn't on when you were playing with the knob, because as you turn the knob, the temperature display would've increased/decreased.

The knob on the passenger side is for manual fan speed control.

Ah ha. You are correct. Guess I'm used to mine where the dial knob has no markings.

Thanks
