Thumbs up '01 cupholder inserts kick ass!

For any of you '99 or '00 owners who haven't swapped out your cupholder inserts for the '01 ones - just go and do it. The '01 is MUCH better. I just stuck one in my 2000 (yes it fits, despite what some dealers might tell you). Total cost: $8.90

Part number: 77237-s0k-a02

You'll probably have to order it as a lot of dealers don't carry it offhand.

Yes, I'd have to agree that everyone should upgrade, especially with the low cost. The cupholder in my '01 is the best one I've had so far. It's a big step from what the 2001 CL Type-S had that I borrowed back in August.... I'm glad they revised that thing.

I had to trim off two little plastic things to fit my '99, but you're right. It does fit nicely and looks much better!

I do - filming on the next movie is wrapping up in about a week. For any fans out there - look for 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' in theaters on August 10, 2001

No TL's in the flick as far as I know - but you can stare at Shannon Elizabeth, Ali Larter and Eliza Dushku instead (or for those of you who swing that way - Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jason Lee are in it too)

Cool

"technically" it doesn't quite fit, you have to cut or shave two very small plastic tabs (like 1mm each) off to allow the insert to fit perfectly. Got mine for $4.93, they had to order it and I got it the next day. Works and looks way better. Amazing how a $5 upgrade can make me so happy!

Thumbs up

I just got back from the dealership I went to order my cup holder. The part should be in next week. I took part number so they could order the correct part. I also picked up 2 bottles of BG Supercharge 2 fuel treatment to put in the gas tank. I also took a look at the Type-S they had some there. The car carrier was there unloading a full truck load all were Type-S with 1 MDX.
That car has a hell of a front face I think I would have to get use to it.

Don't go to Greenwich Acura for parts!

My 01 cup holder was $14.95 while everyone else is paying $4.95 to like $7.

I asked about '02 tail lights. They were $215 each, plus $20 each harness + $5 (estimate) per bulb. Total cost was $500+ just for the parts. Park Ave Acura will install them for $400. I guess that's what you get for shopping in Greenwich CT!

Oh, the cupholder is GREAT (after trimming those two tabs off).

All of you with 99-00 TLs, who got the new cupholder, after you trimmed those 2 plastic tabs off, and put it in, did the doors still open as good as they did before? My two lil doors were either slowing down 1/2 way, or getting stuck. I actually sanded both sides of the cupholder (you can't see the sanding marks because it's on the sides). Now it fits 100 PERFECT! The doors work perfect and all!

Without trimming it, yes, the doors would get stuck. It was (2) 1/8" tabs that I clipped off with wire snips and it fit perfect.

Without clipping them, the cupholder doesn't sit all the way in and the top prevents the doors from opening on their own. (For those that want to do this)

i just got mine for 6.53 with tax. i saw the computer screen when he was chargine. 9 bucks something sale price, 6 something list, and 3 something cost price. anyway you look at it, its a cheap thing to do and its worth it. Acura3200: even with the little tips my doors close and it fits. only thing it does is creates a gap there, so i will cut it off. it feels cool to spend so little but make a great improvement.

it's funny how upset $8 can make me... maybe it's the fact that I paid almost twice what others are paying for theirs.

It's not the $8 I guess, it's the feeling of being ripped off. I'm SOOOO glad I decided to hold off on the taillights or I'd have been jacked for about $150 more than everyone else that got them.

Iam going to pick mine up first thing in the mourning. I called the dealer today to see if it came in he said it came in Tue. He said they called me & sent a notice in the mail. I told him no one called I have caller ID no ACURA parts called. I also have not got a notice in the mail yet. I ordered it last Saturday & it was there Tuesday. The parts guy told me Wendsday I am going to get it before they misplace it.
