IMHO, you should beat him quite nicely... I've done fun sprints against a friends Grand Cherokee 4x4 .. and he can't beat me, and i am stock.

Really, a TL versus a Cherokee. Not even a contest!

Forget the engine displacement for a minute. The Cherokee is heavier so it needs more engine to move, and the tranny in there is hardly power-efficient.

Wow!
Don't mean to 'one-up' you or anything, but I had this guy in a dump truck playing Willy Nelson next to me. He was like: "Wanna race?" So, with sweaty palms and all, I get on it! Believe it or not, I beat him by 9,999 car lengths to 100mph! That'll show 'em the power of the TL!!!

Jeezus...

Engine displacement is pretty insignificant here. The BMW /// M3 has the same displacement as us (3.2 L),but it would knock the socks off a 5.9L limited Grand cherokee

I raced my friends 5.9L around a slight left turn, and he beat me only bc he had the inside lane and my tranny was in the process of failing..but id like a rematch with his azz..

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 and TL-S and I am telling you should able to smoke the Jeep easily. The Jeep has pretty good low end but once it gets up to speed, it SUCKS !!!

U and ur boy r just goofin off, yo.... there is NO WAY that cherokee could beat da TL on the road.... OFF the road, totally diff story. Jeep got nuthin but torque anywhere on the tach, u can basically idle over boulders n ****, i won't lie no TL can do that!! but the weights of the 2 vehicles are pretty much the same, at least in the Cherokee (NOT grand), so its a question of torque and HP and where the engine bites in. with the right mods, u can make a mean fast Heep!

about same position all the way to 80..
no body pull more than a car length when changing gear..
than i decide to slow down caz it's a 35 limit road..

I have a 97 Cherokee 4x4 and a 2003 TLS and it should be no contest.

The Jeep has plenty of get up and go, but it is no match for a TL or TLS.
