no way a stock TLP will run 6.7 0-60. The '99 is a few 10ths slower than the 5 speeds, but both are around the mid 7s for stock 0-60. Now a Type S could push into the high 6s

the stats on websites (especially cars direct) are anything but correct for acceleration BTW

Type S is actually in the low 6s.

I think an 00-01 TL-P might push high 6s/99 low 7s on a good day.

I thought I've seen the 00-01 to be around 6.7s too... But I've also seen them being advertised with the figure of 7.2...

June 2000 Motor Trend has the 2000 TL hitting 0 to 60 in 6.7 and the quarter in 15.2.

yea then again, those are near perfect runs. you'd have to get a really good launch for that. I'm hoping my 03 is down to at least 6.5 with the mods i have on it.

i doubt it.. i have K&N filter and headers too. with a few other little mods like platinum plugs, bosch 02 sensors, custom wide b-pipe, and soon pulleys. it still feels like its never gonna get to 60. i guess it feels like it pulls fast because it gets to higher rpms so fast, and we're in vtec alot longer than 5speed since we're one less, but yeah, its definitly not as quick as the 03tlp at STOCK..

and its pretty hard not to get a perfect run in the tl-p. tcs off and nail the gas. mine i know is in the 6's (due to g-tech pro) ive run 14.99-15.13 and 15.18. only mods are comptech mufflers and k&n filter (under near perfect conditions)

its hard with mine to get a good launch, when I punch it with TCS off...I get a good 4 or 5 seconds of wheel spin. And the more I hate to admit it, I get the best times with it in Auto

i get to 60 fast, like when i pay a toll going 2mph maybe and then hit it when I have some traction, it takes me to 60 in second gear going into third quick. I've driven a stock 02 tlp and my car is wayyyyyy faster. I also have iridium plugs and use only mobil 1 oil, but that isn't going to give me any more power or make the car accelerate faster, just protect against overheating internal components. I'd bet on a track timed I'd be 6.6 to 60. I have a lot of other mods I want to do like pulley, better mufflers, CAI, bigger TB w/spacers and maybe P&P later on, so I will wait til all that is done and then test it out at the track.

The 99 is, according to various sources, about half a second slower than the 00-03 TL-P. Not only do they have extra gears, but the J32 was tuned a little different to make peak torque a little lower. There is no way your 99 is way faster than an 02 TL-P with just headers and a K&N Filter. It may do a little to level the playing field, but the 00+ TL-P has plenty of power. I've driven TL's of all years, both in -P and -S, and the 99 was quick enough but definitely not up to par with the 00+ TL-P, which of course couldn't hang with a TL-S.

buy one of these and find out
http://www.escortradar.com/gtimer.htm

Every car is different. One 5speed tlp may run it in 6.7 one may run it in 7.2

And not everyone lives on this site like you obviously do

i dont get much of any wheel spin at the track, on the street i only get a second of it. sounds like you need better tires!

if you only knew what tires I do have (stock TSX tires aka. ) I personally like them other than the fact that they cant put any amount of power down to the road. I will just have to deal with it because there is no way I can pay for new tires at the moment.

You wouldn't expect them to post runs with excessive wheelspin, bouncing off the rev limiter, and letting off the gas before the finish would you. The other 3 cars the TL was up against in the magazine had a hard time breaking 8 seconds.
