I went to this club Shine in the city last night and I parked LEGALLY RIGHT NEXT TO A SIGN that said No Parking 8 AM to 7 PM. I parked there from 10 PM - 3:30 AM. I get back to see my car with a parking ticket that said the sign read No Parking from 11PM-7AM. I mean, how f*cked up is that? The sign was right next to my car, literally! The whole block had parking tickets on their cars. I wouldn't mind if I got a parking ticket and I actually parked illegally. Now I have to go back and take pictures and try and fight it in court. What a waste of time. I hope I see the cop there...

Take a picture of the sign, and fight it. Its worth a try! It's rediculous that they parking fines are so high now....****ing Bloomberg

 

that pig needs to learn how to read. just take pictures of the sign and fight it. I'm sure those who also got the ticket will think the same.

when you take pictures, make sure the pictures show the cross streets and all the signs on the entire block, otherwise it will get thrown out. There may be a sign all the way on the corner with different rules..... unfortunately I speak from experience.

Ok, I was just looking at that website and I noticed my ticket says I was parked opposite of 361 W Broadway when in fact, I was parked right in front of it. Now I have to see if this cop wrote that on purpose because maybe the other side was no parking from 11pm-7am. What a pain in the @$$!!!

 

$105!?!?!? That's A LOT for a parking ticket. For $105 i can be speeding.

 

$105.00 is what it is now, aah? I remember when it was $35.00 in NY. Take the pictures, but do not send them with the ticket. Just send the ticket with not guilty plea and then bring the ticket to court if they will schedule it or submit them when they ask you for it. Good luck.

 

A picture is worth a thousand words. If you definitely have proof then you should fight it all the way.

 

Do you have to pay parking tickets? What happens if you don't pay? In Houston if you don't pay nothing happens to you, it's basically an honor system.

 

rhizopod, in NYC, you HAVE to pay, or else you get $30 fines for each period it is late. Then, if they catch you, your a$$ get's towed and you have to pay the tickets, fines, and then a towing fee which will run you $250!
