**Irvine (CA) 01-03 TL'ers: HELP NEEDED**

Wassup all, if theres any 01-03 TL-P/TL-S'ers in or around Irvine, CA I need your help

Basically, i got a ticket recently for tinting my tailights with rockblocker tint, and i dont want to take it off (i like them and im afraid of ruining the light cover from all the glue coming off) so i was wondering if anybody here could switch their tailights out with mine for a few hours one day so i can go to court and check it off with them

thanks in advance...

What's the violation code # on the ticket? I'm just curious since I have rockblocker tint on headlights/taillights just like you and pass by CHP almost everyday with no incidents yet. Did the officer give you ticket for front tint too?

hey man wassup.. i got a speeding ticket in newport (at the 55 and 73) a couple of months ago and just went to traffic school yesterday.. the instructor (a retired leuitenant sheriffs dep) told me they keep track of fix it tickets now. so basically, if you put them back on after you "fix it" and they pull you over for it again, they impound your car for 30 days (which is gonna cost you about $3500!!!) and he says the two things cops are annoyed of now are no front license plates and tinted front windows (sighh that's two fix it tickets right there for me)..well this is just all fyi..goodluck w/ ur ticket..

R U guys talking about the front windows as in the driver and passenger side? Is it just tinted to dark? Or are you talking about the windshield? Just curious. Here in missouri they aren't too strict on the front windows as long as they aren't that limo tint 2-5% area. Mine are 20% all around except the windshield of course and never have problems.

yeah the front driver and passenger side.. in california it's illegal to have any tint on those.. sigh we have some of the dumbest laws in this state..check this out..if a cop wants to be anal..he can even write us up for having HID's (even though they come STOCK w/ the car)..because it is illegal to have anything other than white for headlights! now wtf is that...

haven't had a fix-it for a while, but the car doesn't have to be present when you submit and pay does it? if not, you know anyone that's a sheriff??

The cop was semi hiding. haha. I was actually going south on the 55, maybe about a 1/2 mile before the 73. Some guy cut in front of me and I was late to class so I got into the slow lane to pass him up. Next thing I know, theres a guy from highway patrol on his bike w/ his radar gun out on the shoulder (I've gone the same route for THREE years and NEVER has there been a cop there). But yeah, he said he clocked me going 97 or something. Wrote me a ticket for going 85 otherwise it woulda been a misdemeanor.

Becareful on the 73 though. I know its an empty road and its really tempting to drive fast as hell (I've taken the TL up to 130, my friends gone 150 on his bike) but theres more cops there now, especially by the Bison on ramp going north.

Cant and never hold up in court. They are Fedrally approved, and if it comes on the car they cant issue a ticket for them. Now if you change the K of them from oem, or install them on a car which they wernt offered on then there would be a possibility of it. And as for the white comment. 4300k (stock hid) Is the closest to white, standerd halogens are actually in the yellow spectrum
