$9.44!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT A RIP OFF!! Thats how much i am going to pay for a tiny ity bity little clock light. i only paid $5.50 for a 500watt bulb for my work light, and this shitty litttle light probably isn't 1/2 a watt. No parts store carries it, just acura. oh well, at least i can put my dash back together.

I was getting ready to go to Acura one day this week to see about replacing my clock light. I guess I'll give the Radio Shack bulb a try. Sucks I have to take apart my dash again though, I just did that like 2 or 3 weeks ago

If you want you can just buy the bulb online. Basically there are 2 different bulb size on our dash. Size T1 3mm and T3 5mm.

The one from Radio Shack is the T1 3mm size, it will fit all the dash switch, The clock use a bigger bulb 5mm bulb but I replace the bulb with the 3mm without any problem, the bulb is just as bright.

if you really want to keep the bulb the same size then you will have to special order from radioshack or some other places online.

here's are some links you might be interested.

Well tell that dude at Radio Shack that the bulb is in the electronic tray where they sell transistors and resistors. They come in a package of 2.

Its not just the bulb, acura also give you the socket. I tried to go with the radio shack route when I replaced mine but it was a hassle trying to get it to fit into the socket and twist the wires around, etc. I finally broke down and bought the one from acura ... simple swap vs the radio shack rigging.

Aww, cmon! From the numerous '!' in the title, I thought someone drove away from a dealer with a spankin new 6MT A-Spec laden TL for just that sticker price. What a letdown.

How to do:

1. Remove 2 screws above steering wheel

2. Pull upper dash trim out carefully

3. Unhook all the wires behind the clock, temps, and hazard lights

4. Unscrew the 2 phillips screws holding the clock in, clock will come out

5. Looking behind the clock, there is a white circle with a phillips screw looking socket, take a tiny, skinny flat head screw driver and turn about 1/4 counter clockwise turn, i think or just the other way, she'll come right out

6. If you got a bulb from acura, pop it in and go in reverse order to put car back together, if you got the bulb from radio shack, undo the prongs, pull bulb out of socket, put new bulb in, rerun the prongs on the socket

7. Done!

One of the digits was out on my clock and I took mine into the dealer... I was right at 49k miles and they replaced the clock under warranty....too bad I just hit 50k miles.

I am sure you tried whacking the dash right above the clock area to see if the light came back on, right? I know I went like this (no clock light) for months 'till I heard about that tip and voila! it worked like a charm...

Peace.
