$1000 Make Over

As many of you know by now, I purchased an Anthracite 2003 TL in April. Since I consider myself a car enthusiast, I wanted to make some modifications that would personalize my vehicle to my liking.

Although I love to spend money, I try to give myself budget guidelines so I won't over spend during these projects.

I set out to get as much as possible for $1000. Here is what I did, and how much it cost me.

Rear Deck Spoiler $208 (I installed myself)
Springs & Install $274 (H&R Sports)
Tinting (7 windows) $189 (35% all around)
Exhaust Tips $51 (from this web site)
Type-S Rims $300 (cost after I sold my stock 16" rims & tires)
Total $1022

I think my car looks really good. I have pictures, but not sure how to post them. At this point I'm finished upgrading my TL, and I feel I was able to drastically improve the looks, handling, sportiness and comfort of the vehicle.

Thanks for reading.

Nice deal on rims.

I have never thought about selling my stock 16's to someone. I think nobody will be interested.

I sold mine to a palce called Acker Wheels in San Jose, they gave me $200 for the set. I sold my tires to a friend for $375. He has an 99TL and needed tires anyway. The stock tires typcially run $145+ each, so he saved about $200.

Thanks for the reply.

I paid $149+ shipping, for the H&R Sport Spring. There is a body shop in town that works on mostly Hondas and Acuras. A friend from this site, hooked me up for $100 on the install. Took the shop just under 1 1/2 hours.

I hear now, that thet want $150 for the install. But considering Acura wants about $500, that is bargin.

Thanks for your reply
