What to do with chrome flaking off rims?
Hi - I got my RL as an '08 CPO a few months ago with 17" factory chromed rims. I was just washing the car and noticed that some of the chrome has flaked off on the inside of the rim, inside of the spokes - is there anything I can do to stop it from spreading? Is this even a warranty item?
Many thanks - Kevin

Are these the factory standard OEM 17" wheels or are you mistaken with the size and they are actually the 18" A-Spec wheels? I ask because only the A-Spec wheels came in a chrome finish. If you have the OEM 17" wheels and they are chromed, then it must have been done aftermarket and no way Acura will warranty that.
If you have the chrome A-Spec ones, you might have a chance with warranty.

Thanks for the reply, megatron. Yes - they are 17" and the dealer did say "we got them chromed". Hopefully it isn't too expensive to fix and/or there is a temporary fix, like putting nail varnish over the affected area?.
Thanks again - Kevin

get new wheels, use that set in winter!! you will look balling. rechroming is expensive especialluy when they need to strip the orignal chrome off first. ur prob better buying a nice used set of 17in and then chrome them if u really like that look
