What to consider when installing H&R`s

My H&R`s will arrive any day now, ready to install them but..
Do i have to re adjust that light leveling sensor what is connected to rear suspension and if so, how?
Anything else? Wheel alignment have to adjust also, probably yes.
Tried to search this but came up with "nada".
Feeling confident about everything else, played lot with my -93 Coupe Legend suspension.

Not sure but the lights should adjust by itself hence the word "Adaptive" in AFS. As for allignment, u wont need it as ur not touching the tie rod when installing the springs.

I would personally check to see if they really are H&R springs for sure before attempting to install. It happened to me

They should be H&R`s, they are coming from their Finnish importer.

The rear is easy to install. I just unbolt one bolt holding and then remove that swaybar's endlink from the same area you take that one bolt off. The rear spring is a snap to install.

Front is pretty easy also.

Don't you have to compress the front spring to remove from strut on these?

Ok good! I always hated springs for that reason! This time I let my mechanic take care of it! Good luck!

yeah, definitely...I have to be honest, I never use them and just unbolt the top nut till it pops off, but this car had those springs very compressed, so I didn't take that chane

Yep, and when that spring gets loose, it will come towards your head

lol...yeah, when ever I didn't use a spring compressor, I had it laying on the floor facing the wall and let it pop off, never hit me I've done that so many times I can't count, but like I said, I wouldn't do it on this car's front springs...their pretty tight, didn't want to screw up the threads when taking that nut off.

Just out of curiosity, did you guys cut the bump stops on the front when installing the springs?

Light leveling: I found that the front lowered a fraction of an inch more than the rear, and that the lights needed to be adjusted manually. I found the beam to be too short out front. Had the dealer do it and it's better now.

I checked out those H&R papers what came with the springs and they didnt say anything about cutting stoppers
Rear ones are those cone shape stoppers and i think that they have enough room there, so i didnt cut any no rear or no front. Will see if that is an issue.

hey, just to let you know, I did end up cutting my bump stops in half just recently when I installed my H&R with my ASpec Shocks...I only cut the front ones though. I have had no issues and the ride is great.

Things i notice while installing the springs

- lighting are about half inch lower, can leave it or adjust it higher

- if you have trouble taking rear links off due to rust can just take the 4 swaybar bushing bolts off instead

- rear lca is just one bolt and you'll need to hammer it to separate the ball joint, once separated can just leave it hang don't need to be supported

- for the front seems pretty tight once you separate the fork from the strut may need someone to step on the rotor to push down the knuckle for more clearance on bringing the strut out, once out get spring compressor to swap springs

I'm planning on getting H&Rs in the Spring. From what I read on here, it seems pretty easy to DIY. Looks like the only specialty tool I'll really need are spring compressors for the front. Thanks guys.
