TMP questions

I'm getting new rims, tires and TMPs mounted on 07 RL and have a few questions that I need answered. The work will be done not at an ACURA dealer. Here goes the questions I'de like answered:
1. How do you get the car to read the new TMPs; in other words now does one recalibrate the system?
2. Can you transport old wheels with TMPs in car with new wheels/Tmps and not have problems with TMP system?

In answer to item 1, you need to drive about a mile, and by then the computer will sort it all out. Same thing happens after you rotate the tires, although, if you let the car sit long enough, it will calibrate itself also. The pulse rate (computer pinging the sensor for a tire pressure reading) varies depending on whether the engine is on or off, and maybe also speed. This is done to preserve the battery life of the TPMS sensor. If the car is off, you pulse like once an hour vs maybe sevral times a minute when you are at speed.

Answer to Item 2--no idea good question. Let us know! As soon as you get old TPMS out of the car, drive a mile, and the computer should calibrate itself to the four remaining TPMS signals.

That is going to be one dirty, smelly ride, I figure you can fit one tire in the trunk, two in the back seat and one in the front seat which will tell you Passenger Airbag is Off! Ah the smell of rubber in the morning! Cover your leather well, the brake dust and dirt is hell on the interior. Take it from one who knows.

I don't think you should have a issue transporting your old wheels. The receivers for the tpms are located in the wheel well and the signal strength from inside is probably not strong enough to transmit to the tpms receivers.
