Tire valve caps

Anyone have their tire valve caps replaced? Do the plastic ones look OK? I do like the look of the aluminum ones. Perhaps some anti sieze will solve any future issues.

Yea on the 06 they addressed that issue. They have silver painted plastic ones on the valve stems now. I check my air allot and those metal ones will take the skin of your finger when its cold out and they are siezed on. Try the dealership because they put painted ones on the 06 now. They must have had complaints.

Received the pllastic caps in the mail yesterday with a letter explaining the problem. Seems there was an issue in areas of salted roads and the caps corroding. Replaced them as I had a problem with one of them seizing on the stem-took a pair of pliers to loosen it. In Rhode Island the use of salt is widespread so replaced the caps although I prefer the look of the metal ones.

I also had to use a pair of pliers to get them off. A lot of corrosion.

I was sent a set of the plastic caps a few months ago - I put them on my 17's with my snow tires and left the aluminum caps on the 18's. I hadn't had any problems with the stock caps, but I just figured that the plastic may be better with the abundant road salt here in the winter.

It is funny that you say this. I had my oil change done this week, and I just realized that the dealer changed them to plastic black. Superb service, but they should have returned my metal ones. I would use them for the Summer.

I got mine in the mail today. Just a couple hours after I dropped off the RL to be transported to the new owner.
