Tire size recommendation

I ordered a set of wheels from Japan and won't be here during late Oct. Right now the wheels I ordered is 20x8.5 fronts and 20x9.5 rear.

Right now I wanna see for the fronts if I should get:

235-35-20 or 245-35-20

Rear:
265-30-20 or 275-30-20

Tires I'm getting are Toyo T1R

Any recommendations are appreciated.

20 series? Surely hope the roads in your part of the country are in good shape. One pot hole experience may ruin your tire/wheel combo. Hope it doesn't though.

I thought the rule of thumb was not to stagger wheels on an AWD vehicle. Will the 9.5" wheel clear the suspension?? The 275 30 will give you a little more sidewall and better for ride quality.

20's run great on my car and there is plenty of sidewall for potholes. If a pothole is that bad it will damage the factory wheels as well. Been there several times myself on cheap wheels in the past.
The trick is to get a quality wheel and not some cheap knockoff from Discount tire or elsewhere and it seems like you are getting a quality wheel if your getting it shipped from Japan. Which wheels?

That stated the general rule is to run the same diameter tire from and rear which is why many tire shops will not even replace just two tires on a AWD car and will only replace them in fours. Their policy so something to keep in mind.

I am not sure what the accepted variances between the front and rear are but do know others here had/have staggered setups and have reported no trouble.

For your combination I would run

Front
245/35/20-diameter 26.8"
Rear
275/30/20-diameter 26.5" -pretty darn close

Stock 17's
245/50/17-diameter 26.6"

Thanks for the recommendation. I want that staggered looks for the 245 fronts and 275 rear. So I guess I will go on those set up. The wheels I'm getting are Works.

I hear you, the car looks much better with staggered wheels. On my setup I have the staggered look even though front and rears are 8.5". This way I can keep the tires the same and nobody is the wiser.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to post some pic after the SEMA show.
