Steering vibration.

Hello guys I recently purchased (2) used OEM Tires 9/32 tires on eBay for my 06 RL. As the ones I had on the back were pretty worn. I took the tires to the local tires shop.

1. I had the rims on the back of the car replaced to the front with the better-used tires purchased.
2. I had the front rims and tires moved directly to the back of the car.
3. After driving my car home I began to notice the steering shimmy at 60mph and the steering pulling right so the next day I called and explained to the tires shop…took it back in and had them re balanced again.
4. Upon driving the car home I notice that the same issue was happening…. at 60 and above could this be a tire issue? or because I had a sidewalk scuff on one rim from the back that was put on the front… I am also noticing that the front end of the car feels heavy in the steering almost bouncy …. upon checking the right wheel I noticed that they have heavier weight on one wheel as oppose to the next, could this be my issue? This is the worse I have felt my RL drive since I purchased her back in 2010.

Thanks.

It could be so many things. First off, how much tread is on the two older tires you left on the car? Secondly, you're dealing with used tires. Maybe they were taken off a car at 9/32nds because one of them had a radial pull defect. Maybe one of the wheels that got moved to the front is bent. Maybe the tires are out of round.

I've already scolded one member for putting used tires on their flagship luxury vehicle tonight, I'm not going to do it again. Or did I just do that?...

You gotta pay to play, Mr. Tea. Why in the world are you searching eBay for tires on your RL? If you can't afford 4 new tires, you shouldn't have bought an RL.

That is the problem with used tires. You just don't really know what you are getting and you have little recourse if something is wrong. Hopefully you are able to resolve it easily enough and inexpensively. Below is a link to a chart to help diagnose: Vibration Chart

If they were priced to sell, resell them and go buy some new tires.

Good to hear. Have you decided on a new tire to go with yet?
