Shipping wheels and tires

Anyone here ever shipped wheels and tires? Someone on acurazine wants to buy my wheels but I'm not exactly sure how I'll ship or get price on shipping.

Thanks

Put them in a box, weigh the box, get a quote, multiply by 4.

People buy wheels and tires from online vendors all the time, and they just end up with 4 large boxes in their garage.

I packaged and shipped mine like this:

Size: 62.3 KB
*Faces of wheels are on the inside, towards each other

*Face of wheel / bubble wrap / cardboard / bubble wrap / face of wheel

Size: 76.1 KB
*Wrapped in cellophane to keep them together

*Finished product

I just dropped them off at a UPS store. I believe I paid @ $200 total but it was a few years ago so I could be off a bit.

The problem with boxes is they need to be big (especially if you're selling with tires) and they need to be very sturdy. The above method is definitely the cheaper way to go. The buyer received the wheels and they were held together just as well as when I sent them (and of course no damage).

I would swing by a dealer or any tire and wheel vendor to see if they have any leftover wheel boxes. I know that's how I got my boxes for storage. Those boxes aren't that sturdy for shipping but they have enough room to add padding. But that's only for the wheels aspect of this problem.

I've shipped wheels before and had great experience with the company Shipnex. Online you give the company the measurements and weight and they can arrange Fedex to pick it up at your house for half the price.

I did the same as bronco- cardboard on the face and back then wrapped them, but I did each rim individually so I could put them in my car. Should run you about $150-200 depending on who you take them too. Call around for price quotes
