Scalloped Winters
Scalloped Winters
The winters I ran last year still have lots of tread but are scalloped since I really should have had an alignment done before putting them on but didn't
As a result they are pretty loud on dry pavement.
After the allseasons went back on this past spring, I did get an alignment and I noticed after a month or so my allseasons got noticeably quieter..although they were never anywhere near as noisy as the winters.
The winters are about to go back on - am I risking anything with putting scalloped tires on an AWD car? I know you can't mix and match worn verus new tires so just want to make sure I am not asking for trouble. There is easily 2 or probably 3 more seasons of tread left on these so I don't want to go buy new ones unless I really have to.

Yeah even when brand new like just about every winter tire these were noisier than the all seasons, but they got noticeably louder by the end of last winter and when the allseasons went back on the shop note said "winters - scalloped, needs alignment"
