Questions for those with the Tein Comfort Sport coilovers

After doing a lot of thinking on cost vs features, convenience and performance, I've decided I'm going to get the Tein coilovers. My original plan was A-Spec shocks and H&R springs, mostly because of the lower initial cost, but I've decided to just go all in at this point since I'm going to be keeping the RL for a while.

Tein's website is a bit muddled and difficult to understand and I'm looking for real concrete answers. So here are a couple of questions for those that have the Tein coilovers and can answer with their experience. First off, here's the specs from Tein's website:

Questions for those with the Tein Comfort Sport coilovers-a8dwhaw.jpg

It seems like the front adjusts from a 0.8"-2" drop and the rear from raised 0.6" to dropped 1". Please tell me if I'm reading that wrong.

-Can the ride height be raised to close to stock? I know what it says in their specs but I find those are not always 100% accurate. I ask this for two reasons. One, my summer tires already rub a little in the rear and I'm assuming lowering will not help this. I will get my fenders rolled if necessary, just want to make sure I'll be able to get it to a shop to have them rolled without destroying a tire in case they rub crazy once I put the coilovers on. The second reason is that I'd like to be able to raise the car up to an acceptable height for snow clearance in the winter time.

-How much adjustability is there total? Again, I know what it says on Tein's website but I've seen plenty of cars around here that are definitely sitting lower on these coilovers than it seems Tein's specs would allow.

-Obviously, a few guys have used the EDFC controller and motors on these coilovers. Does anybody have the newer EDFC Advance/Pro kit? I'd love to get that eventually if it works with the Comfort Sport kit. (I did email Tein's tech department if the two are compatible. Still waiting on a response).

Tein just came out with a new version for the RL with more features for about $1500. I purchased a set, but canceled the order when I found out there was a two month lead time.

Hmmm. Looks like it has a little stiffer springs and twin tube shocks instead of mono-tube. I'm waiting for my guy to get back to me on pricing. He quoted me $1700 for the Comfort Sport kit...

It's weird that Tein's Japan website lists that kit as compatible with both the KB1 and KB2. Heel Toe Automotive only lists it as compatible with the KB2.

Thanks for the heads up!

The Comfort Sport kit has spring rates of 448f/504r.
The Street FLEX is 672f/560r.

It's weird that they increased the spring rate by nearly 50% on the front and only about 10% on the rear. I wonder if you can get a lower front spring rate or higher rear spring rate. Still waiting to hear back from my dealer about pricing and availability. Tein's JP website says there's only 1 available. I'm still getting mixed information on whether or not these will work on the KB1. Tein's website lists it for both the KB1 and KB2 using the exact same part number. This website lists 4 different part numbers for the same kit. 2 are for the KB1 and 2 are for the KB2:

http://www.carfantasy.nl/EN/honda/le...ml?language=EN

Furthermore, if Tein lists the same part number for both the KB1 and KB2, why don't they list the Comfort Sport kit as compatible with both KB1 and Kb2? This is all very confusing.

FWIW, there is a member here who claims to have run the Street Flex.

That's because after I emailed them about it they checked Tein's application guide and corrected their site. He emailed me about it this morning.

It doesn't matter. The Flex kit is sold out now.

This kit has actually been available for a while, it isn't necessarily new, but it is new to many members. The set goes a lot lower than the CS' and if they're anything like other FLEX Tein's I've used in the past, they'll be a huge upgrade from stock whether you have a KB1 or KB2.

If TEIN's website says they are out of stock, I may be able to get some from Japan from my same guy who got me the Largus Harmonic's.

How do you like the Largus Harmonic's? Do you know what the main difference with them and the street flex? I am trying to figure out whether to go that route or the Street Flex but there's a significant difference in price. Is it all in the name? Do you have any pics?

Any updates to the flex coilovers? The website says there's 3 left. Not really sure where I would order from or if I need to find a dealer. And then there is the conflicting part numbers it seems

I've been driving on street flex with edfc active for 6 months. To be honest I hate the ride quality. At first it was ok but after a while its annoying. It rides like a car with worn shocks (soft, over springy ride)over uneven road and going over speed hump at low speed the car will bounce a couple of times before stabilizing. I'm taking the car back to the shop next month to see what need changing to bring the car to a more acceptable ride quality (re-valve or new spring rate). I want less of the springy ride if that make sense. FYI tein have discontinue making comfort sport for our car.

Jono87,
Do you notice a change in damping or ride quality when making adjustments using the edfc?
