Newb needs to know about offset please. Getting tires and rims.

Hey all...I just purchased a 2005 RL.
Here is a couple of pics:

In the last picture are the tires.
Can someone tell if these are the PAX tires?
Also...if they are indeed PAX tires, I am depaxing it, and getting 18" regular tires and rims. I have done a lot of research on this, and am getting very confused.
I found a site that does the wheel conversion for me (Wheel Fitment for 2005 Acura RL 3.5 | Wheel & Tire Designs Wholesale Distributors it says this:

2005 Acura RL 3.5 Specifications:
Bolt Pattern: 5x120 • Center Bore: 64.1 • Hardware:14x1.50 Lug • Offset: 42-55mm

My question is this...Can I find any rim I like, and it will clear the 4 bolt front calipers without rubbing, as long as it is within these above spec's for offset?
It HAS to fall between 42-55mm? Anything above 55, and below 42 will NOT work...is this correct?
Sorry...that was a very long post for a very simple question.
Thanks SOOOOO much for the help!

If you are staying with stock width then stick to those offsets. There is a small chance the design of your choice wheel may not clear the front calipers, regardless of the numbers.

Thanks for the help...I really appreciate it.
I found some sites claiming my stock rim is 115mm bolt pattern, and others claiming 120mm as well. Very confusing.
How I understand it is this way....if I choose a rim that has the exact specs as my stock 17"x8" one...but is just 18"x8"...then I should be OK.
Is this correct, or am I missing something?

Don't purchase from sites saying our pattern is 5x115 bc they don't know what they are talking about. 5x120 is correct. If you're going up one inch in size but keeping the same width and offset, then ideally you should be fine. The Aspec wheel that are made for our RL's are 18x8 with +55 offset.

If you have further questions, ask us

Wonderful....thank you very much for the clarification.
So...does the center bore have to be 64.1...or can that change?

You can buy rings to make them fit. I bought metal ones for my Vossen wheels. I can look for the website later on my home computer if you would like. If I forget then I blame it on today's holiday.

I'm glad you brought up those exact wheels. Others on this site have tried it and the fronts DO NOT fit without wheel spacers. That's what I meant earlier by saying the design of the wheel matters and you'll never know until you test fit.

Gotcha...so are there known 18 inch rims that fit our 2005/2006 RL's without any issues with the calipers, besides the 18 inch A Spec wheels?
Has anyone compiled a list or took a poll?

There are many options. TSW and RonJon are known to fit perfectly.

OK...thank you again for all the help. I really appreciate it.
I will continue the search, and hopefully find something as close to Acura wheels as I can find.

Why do you want them to be close to Acura wheels? Stock wheels are typically toned down and boring. TSW has some gorgeous wheels that make the RL look even better than it already does.

Your right...what I meant to say is that I like the 5 spoke look of the stock RL rim to a point, and hopefully will be able to find something like that. Like the TSW Ascent or Geneva wheel. Which both have a similar look of the stock rims available on the RL's and TL's of years past.
