New Wheel Options - Falken Torque 5 and PIAA Super Rozza 2-Pc

http://edgeracing.com/2005/Acura/RL/wheels/19/

Edge Racing says they have confirmed fitment for all of the wheels listed in the link on a 05 RL.

IMHO, the only ones that will look good (I.e. not stick out past the fenders) are the Falken Torque 5 in 19x8 +38 and the PIAA Super Rozza 2-Pc in 19x8 +42. As long as the calipers clear we should be golden.

Note, the photos for the PIAA wheel on Edge's site are not of the +42 offset. The lip is much smaller on the +42.

PIAA specs here -> http://piaa.com/Wheels/Wheel_Rozza.html
Some good photos of the Super Rozza's here -> http://piaa.com/Wheels/gallery.html (I LOVE THESE WHEELS )

Falken Specs here -> http://www.falkentire.com/wheels_trq5.htm

Hopefully Edge Racing is telling the truth about fitment. I called and the sales rep assured me they have tested them. Anyone in South Florida wanna take a drive over to their warehouse?

The Silver finished Torque 5 does not look bad in 19X8 for $200/wheel. The chrome finished version might be a little too much on our cars?

Some 19" Torque 5 chrome photos on a TL here . . . I think they would look good on a dark RL where the chrome trim shows more.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...221#post904221

I'm still totally digging the PIAA Super Rozza's . . . seriously thinking about pulling the trigger.

Those PIAA's look exactly like the Work Meister S2R's. I wonder if theres any relation?

Anyways, nice wheels. My friend has a set of the Works on his S2k. I would imagine that these would pretty sweet in 19's on a lowered RL.

If you purchased these wheels, what happens to the TPMS?

feeble attempt

As for the TPMS, you need to purchase new valve stems from Honda.

Any idea how much the new valve stems cost? So if I bought a set of already mounted wheels tires, they would have to dismount them and install the new stems, etc?

Edge Racing also said these would fit. Any ideas about a 19X8.5 with a 38mm offset on our cars? They are 2 lbs lighter than the Torque 5s.

IMHO, the Koblenz will stick out too far . . .

Use this tool.

I am not sure if any of you have seen this car before, but it belongs to Steve on the other Acura forum. He has 19X8 Alba wheels and they work fine with the TPMS.

The 5 star falkens look good. But the PIAA super rossias get my vote. Go for at least 19X8.5 W/ + 42

There is no "go for at least" here.

It's "go for what clears the calipers and doesn't stick out past the fenders".

I think I am going to get Falken Wheel Torque 5 but I can't decide my mine on silver, gun metal, or chrome. Is any one have suggestion for celestial silver RL?

Any of the three would look good, but I like silver on silver the best.

Are you going to get them locally to test fit or order them online?

Talk to: Leo Barrios
leo@edgeracing.com
800-489-5353 x211

He was extremely helpful. He said they test fit all the wheels before putting them on their website, but if you get them and they do not fit, return them for a full refund. He said it is better to place your order over the phone because he can include the TPMS and wheel locks in your order. All the other online stores wanted me to mail them the TPMS, but Edge Racing said they will order it from their local Acura dealer and install them during mounting.

Maybe we can get Leo to join this forum and answer some questions?

Don't forget to talk to Leo about the TPMS or you will have to dismount them once you get them and then reinstall with the TPMS. I would also highly recommend getting a set of wheel locks in the deal for extra security. Goodluck and please let us know with which set of wheels/tires you go with and most of all put some pictures up when they are installed

x4ever, did you get 'em?

Can't beat that wheel for the price.

I've been kicking the idea around of getting a set of Torque 5's in Gunmetal or even Chrome for my Carbon Gray Pearl RL . . .

Finally got it. Had to use http instead of ftp. These are 1956 Oldsmobile Fiesta spinners. Very popular when I was in high school.

No, my digital camera is toast and this is a new computer without my pics on it.
However I chose the gunmetal as it is darker and the stainless rim stands out
nicely. My opinion is to get a darker color so you have some contrast.

rims similar to the PIAA at groupawheels.com

The adrenaline 3 ROH wheel at GroupAWheels.com looks a lot like the PIAA Super Rozza. They said they would custom build it to fit my RL. Below in blue is what they replied. A bit pricey, but nice looking rims. I am thinking about the black ice on my black RL

I am trying to decide between 18x8 or going 19x8. I worry that 19x8 will be too harsh a ride and also worry about denting my rims on potholes with the lower profile tires. So, am leaning towards 18" rims, though I like the look, of course, of 19".

Anybody else interested? If there are others, maybe they would do a volume discount. Anyone know what the PIAA Super Rozza's cost? And do they fit for sure or can they be custom built to fit the new RL? Thanks.

http://www.groupawheels.com/adrenalin3.html

The ROH Adrenalin3 would be built specific to your 2005 Acura RL 18x8 5x120 bolt pattern 64.15mm hub bore +42mm offset with large brake clearance.

Priced at $2740.00 per set of (4) in Black Ice (hyper black finish) or Bright Silver Metallic or Charcoal Grey Metallic or Gold or White.

Saw the answer to one of my questions. Noticed the price of the Super Rozza on the Edge website. Normally $569, on sale for $509 for 19x8, so cheaper than the ROH wheels, which are almost $700.
