hey guys i just bought some 20" wheels for my 2006 acura rl. i had minor trouble clearing the calipers so i ended up using a spacer.The thing is that the space between the caliper and the rim is miniscule...maybe a hair strand might passs thru but nothing bigger...is it safe to even be riding with it like that? it drives smoothe and everything with no rub but will a pothole be a bigger issue

 

I'll wait for BDogg to chime in, but I think you are okay. There shouldn't be any flex in your wheels.

 

I am having some issues with my 20" rims clearing the brake calipers as well and was wondering what type of spacers you used?

 

The best option is to buy wheels that actually fit the car.
The second option is to fit the incorrect wheels and drive for about 25 miles and then the wheels should stop making any noise.

If they clear they clear. There's no movement outwards from the calipers and no movement from the wheels. You'll know if they don't fit.
