KYB GR2 Struts

Is anyone running the KYB GR2 Struts on the RL?
Did you only replace the struts?
Opinions on their ride, durability etc please.
Any other recommendations apart from OEM for a smoother ride?

Thanks for your help.

Smoother?

I don't think the RL suspension can get any softer than it is. Maybe try some 15" wheels with the psi @ 29.

We haven't seen any other non-OEM options here. The reviews I have read about KYB were mediocre at best. Even Odyssey owners weren't impressed.

My RL is not soft, it is stiffer than my MDX in Sport mode. My RL does have 157K miles on the original and the nice ride of the RL seems to have long gone. I have 19 inch at 34psi all round. It is beginning to look like OEM replacements.

New struts should definitely not be compared to 8 year old struts. You comment insinuates you want a ride softer than a new OEM suspension. What wheels are you running in 19"s? I thought you were the briefcase carrying, original owner, old man that the RL and the 17"s were targeting.

KYB gr2s and tokico blues are usually aftermarket oem replacements, most dealers will get gr2s if customers cannot afford oem struts. Dono if they make it for the RL but from experience don't see anything wrong with them.

Also don't think 15 inch wheels will fit the RL

Stern prototypes with Hankook V12 Evo's.

OEM was good, if I could save a bit on new struts then I will go that route. The harshness on my briefcase is shaking the bits loose in my IPad so I will either have to put some money into the RL or sell it. I have been looking at Audi, Merc, Jag etc and I cannot improve on what I have without sinking $70K. I may wait for the next RLX because this old man wants more than 17's!

I think Honda makes some of the best OEM struts out there.
