Honda Ridgeline wheels?

My son told me today he was checking specs on the 2006 Ridgeline. It also uses the 5X120 bolt pattern like the RL and uses TPMS. He noticed that tirerack, & tires.com offer a larger selection of wheels if you select the Ridgeline. Does the Ridgeline have the same 64.1 hub bore like the RL? This might open up a whole new wheel selection to RL owners, here are a few examples:

18X8.5 & 19X8.5 & 20X8.5 et 40 Beyern Mesh

18X8.5 & 19X8.5 & 20.8.5 et 40 Beyern 5

20X9 ASA AR1 et40

Just did some research, the Ridgeline does have a 64.1 mm hub bore and the stock offset is 50mm on the 17 inch wheels. I believe any wheels for the Ridgeline will work just fine on the RL!!

No, it's more than just bolt pattern, offset and bore please take care.

You must also check the wheel X-factor, which is the clearance necessary for the brake calipers. As you probably know, the calipers on the RL are large (like the Brembo's)...unless the calipers on the Ridgeline are equally large it is very possible that the Ridgeline wheels will NOT fit the RL.

My son will be getting my RL and he has been doing plenty of research lately on wheels, we will see how it goes. I am not sure what size the calipers are on the Ridgeline, but I would hope a 19 or 20 inch wheel would clear them!

A quick google search shows that the RL and Ridgeline use the same 12.6 inch 4 piston front calipers.

Pete nailed it. The #1 factor in our difficulty in finding wheels is the caliper clearance. There are a TON of 5x120 wheels with +35 to +45 offsets out there. It's the same bolt pattern and offset as most BMW 3, 5, and X5 series vehicles. On paper they should all fit fine, but there is no way of telling if they will clear the calipers or not unless you mount them.

I actually bought a set of 19x8 +38 wheels that by default should have fit perfectly. Sadly, they rubbed the ACURA on the caliper.

You are mistaken. They may have the same size discs, but certainly not calipers.

The caliper on the Ridgeline is tiny.

At least you tried, at this point trial and error is the best option to find what wheels will fit our cars since most retailers do not actually test fit before selling. What type of wheels did you buy, so we know to stay away from them?

I also tried many wheels with my local wheel dealer before I finally gave up and got the 18" from Acura.
If you want to see the results of the trials, you can see some of the wheels that did fit at www.bigwheels.net ... unfortunately I was after a split-spoke design but I didn't like any that fit
Since bigwheels has increased the number of wheels farther after I gave up, I cannot say that all the wheels they currently promote as fitting were tested...but I know they have access to RLs from a local dealer (Steven's Creek Acura in San Jose).

Thanks Pete. My son wanted to get a deep dish wheel like he had on his Passat, but I do not think deep dish wheels work with the "X-Factor" of the calipers. Right now he is thinking of going with the 19X8 TSW Montage Hyper Silver wheels from bigwheels.net.. at least we know those work with the RL's Calipers and TPMS>

These will fit, hubcentrically, clear the caliper, the 19" x 8.5" are only 19 lbs as oppsosed to the 17" x 8" stock wheel weight of 25+ lbs. 42mm offset to ensure no rubbing.

Nice wheels . . . I just wish they weren't $610 each . . .

Anyhow, when are they going to be available?

Any chance you'll do some sets in Carbon Gray Pearl w/ a polished lip?

They are beautiful wheels and do fit perfectly, but as ASP said.. $610/each!

I asked in another thread about a possible group buy price? I am sure you could sell at least 5 sets of the 19X8.5s if the price was reduced.

Sorry, been real busy. If someone wants to orginize the GB and collect the payments, I can reduce the price, but they all have to be ordered by the same person at the same time. This will give it the GB status and get the discount.
We would need at least 4 customers who purchase a set each, and then the price will be $550 each wheel, $2200 for the set plus shipping.

BTW, here is the actual finish without the centercap and wheel accessories:

Is this price for the 3 piece or 1 piece wheel? Also, does the price include TPMS?

Does the price include shipping?

Thanks Ron

Any chance of getting that number below 2 grand shipped?

Wow they look a lot better finished! Is that a chrome dip, or some other finish on that one?

Thanks!

that is the One piece forged, the three piece wheel is $900 in full chrome. These wheels are not cast, and forged wheels cost alot more to build, better materials, better engineering and better structure. Lighter, stronger and more exclusive. Besides all that these wheels fit the RL, and the RL only. No other wheel or company can do what we do for the RL with such dedication. TPMS not included, and the price is pretty much lowered already. Lets get some people in, if it goes over 5 sets, i can lower the price a little more. Price does not include shipping, that has to be custom quoted.
The finish shown in the image of the wheel alone is the Full mirror Polish, looks like chrome, but if scratched, curbed or damaged, it can be polished back to new.

Thanks for all the information Ron. Will you be making a more affordable Cast Aluminum wheel like the Inspyre for the RL?

I bet if you offered a cast version that looked the same, at half the price, you would have orders right now . . .

Look on the tirerack for asa ar1 and you can get an idea of value. These do not apparently fit on the RL. Are you saying you have an RL with the AR1s fitted?

bolt pattern measure it. Look on the link below to see how you measure it, and offset.

http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/wheeloffset.html

Offset should be marked on the wheel. You can also call ASA with the numbers marked on the wheel and they should be able to tell you if you cannot tell what you have by looking at the wheel markings
