Has anyone installed the A-Spec wheels without the suspension?

I have the CMBS/ACC package, so lowering the car is out of the question (or at least so they say).

I would like to replace the PAX wheels with standard ones, and was considering the A-Spec version. They are an inch larger, if I remember correctly.

Does anyone had a picture of what this would look like?

There are lots of threads on the PAX wheels.

PAX wheels are 18 inch in diameter, so A-Specs will be the same size. PAX tires are measured in the metric system exclusively unlike the mixed English and metric measurements prevalent in conventional tires. For example a conventional passenger car tire might have the designation 245/45-18, indicating a tread section 245 mm wide, with an aspect ratio of 45% (i.e., the sidewall height is 45% the width of the tread section), mounted on an 18 inch conventional wheel. The similarly sized PAX tire would designated 245-680R460A, indicating the same 245 mm tread section, but a 680 mm overall diameter (a specification not in the conventional passenger car tire nomenclature), the R, meaning radial construction, a 460 mm wheel width (approximately 18.1 inches) and A for asymmetric, meaning that the wheel is asymmetric, or PAX system.

I personally have replaced the PAX wheels with 19 inchers. The rear shocks are valved slightly differently than non PAX equipped cars, probably because the PAX wheel tire combo is a bit heavier. I think I saved about 92 lbs in unsprung weight by switching to conventional wheels and tires, but I had to add back probably 40 in the trunk with the spare, and lose that storage space.

Great info (I probably would've been able to find those other threads if the search here wasn't so awful, lol). I'll look into the A-Spec wheels then. Thanks.

You are not limited to A-Spec wheels, so long as the fit is compatible, but certainly RL A-Spec wheels are Acura branded, warranted and will fit. Make sure it is RL only A-Spec wheels. 3G TL wheels do not fit. We think that 4G TL wheels may fit. They have the same width, bolt circle and offset, but should be test fitted.

Let us know what you end up doing!
