Depaxing 2008 Acura RL
I have a 2008 Acura RL with the Tech Package and pax tires. It's time to replace the tires, but our "local" dealership doesn't have the equipment and there isn't another in over 250+ miles. Since the wear bars are starting to show, I really don't have much time to waste. Should I take it to a local tire company and have them depax the tires and have new rims put on? If so - what size rims? Anyone else run into this? I would greatly appreciate the benefit of your knowledge and experience!
Hi, welcome to the forums.
It's amazing you don't have time to waste, but you have time to wait for a response to a question that has been answered a million times. Did you even click on the Tires and Wheels subforum?

I got your PM. Thanks for taking the attitude in stride. Here is a pretty comprehensive thread about one member's quest to de-PAXing his RL. Take a look through it and feel free to ask any questions that aren't answered there.

For wheels, you will need wheels that use a 5x120 bolt pattern. Stock wheels are 17" in diameter and 8" wide. You can easily go up to 19" and 8.5" without issue as long as you size your tires to match the stock diameter. You biggest road block is finding a wheel that will clear the large front brakes. We cannot tell you if they wil clear or not based on standard measurements alone. Your best bet is to have the manufacturer guarantee fitmet to the RL and accept returns if they are wrong.
