Dead TPMS

I have a set of TPMS sensors that are dead. Can they be opened and have the battery changed or am I SOL?

Im just learning this now as I google. Its a shame...another failure by the auto industry. At least give me the option to turn off the warning. Oh well

As far as I'm concerned they are a PIA, especially when they become aged and start not reading. Daughter has a JGC Hemi going through this right now, replaced the complete set when new tires installed last month and only one working, what a waste of money. Purchased another well known brand and haven't had them installed, too busy. I have a wheel balancer, but not a tire changing machine, so guess I'll do them shortly.

They do come in handy as in our knock around car the light has come on to infor me of a air pressure problem.

Yeah, unfortunately, no battery replacement. Part of me wonders if GM got it right with their indirect TPMS. Based on how fast an individual tire rotates, they estimate the tire pressure. Seems like much less of a hassle when the car ages if you ask me
