The compact spare for the non-PAX equipped 2005-2008 RL is the proper size for any PAX equipped RL. It will also work for de-PAXing, where you will replace PAX with 245/45-18 (or 245/50-17 or 245/40-19 or 245/35-20, for that matter).

Here is the list of parts you need in addition to the spare, which you should try to source from a salvage yard.

* Trunk Spacer Assembly (Part number: 84542-SJA-A00)
* Adapter - Spare Tire (74651-S2x-003)
* Bolt - Spare Tire (74652-SDA-003
* Label - Spare Tire Adapter - Not really needed but cheap (74653-SJA-003)
* Nut - Wheel (90304-SHJ-A91) - Need 20 of them or 16 and a set of wheel locks

PS, the spare tire size is T155/70D17

Does anyone know whether the spare tire for a 2010 RL is the same size as the spare for the 2009?

I depaxed my 2006 with the 18" wheels off a 2009, and am now looking for a spare. Found a 2010 spare, and it's a 17 x4 wheel as well, but I can't seem to find info on the tire size. I suspect they don't change these sizes often, but can't find any definitive info on it, including from dealerships who sell the wheel but have a hard time getting the tire.

It should work fine. The parts catalog shows they are the same piece.

The spare tire size is T155/70D17, which you can confirm in a 2009 or 2010 owners manual. You might be able to even ask 037, or one of the new 2010 owners to look in their respective trunks and report back.

The rolling diameter of the 2009-2010 245/45-18 tire is, for our purposes, identical to that of the PAX 245-680R460A tire.

Excellent, thanks Chas. I've been looking for a spare since I bought the car over a year ago... I'll feel better with one in the trunk.
