Aspec Wheels - Chrome or Aluminum?

I have a 2007 black on black RL. I just got in the a-spec suspension today, getting it installed tomorrow (Super excited). Going to order the wheels so, just cant decide whether to go chrome or aluminum! What do you guys think on a black on black car?

Aluminum? I must be confused. I thought there was Chrome and Black Chrome. I would go with Black Chrome.

I know.. i think the chrome will look great, but make the more flashy, and less sophisticated. I think the aluminum will make the car look real sporty.

Lets clarify something here. There are two finishes that come from the factory, Chrome Look and Ebony Chrome.
Ebony Chrome:

And Chrome Look:

Please correct me if I am incorrect, but there is no "aluminum" finish available from the factory.

Everything else, including Heavy's black wheels, are aftermarket painted.

Maybe this can help the discussion be more successful.

tnobori's Ebony Chrome:

And Chrome Look from somewhere in AZ.

This gives me more clarification, I didn't realize they both are chrome, just one has the black painted inlets. I think I am going with the ebony chrome, think it will look better than the all chrome.

I think that is the better option. Somehow the Ebony Chrome doesn't look as silver. There are also questions about the quality of the Chrome plating on the Chrome Look wheels.

Good luck! Post pics.

Now the next thing is, when I look at the aspec body kit.. It doesnt seem like it changes the appearance that much.. I am thinking of just doing the rear bumper and deck like and skipping the front.. or maybe everything but the front.. Just dosent seem the dramatic of a difference.. the number on thing to me is the trunk lip

you should order the mugen or amuse kit instead for like a thousand more dollars lol..
side skirts is not a big difference!!! you gotta take those mudflaps off!!

oh yeah i don't see the black inserts on the ebony chrome.. Confused!!!! i personally can't tell the difference. i don't even know if i have chrome or ebony chrome on my car lol

If you have the part number, that will tell you. Although you have Black Chrome listen in your sig. You really are a noob.

rpetrover, check out this thread. I feel the exact opposite as you do. https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/rear-aspec-lip-really-worth-832720/

Unfortately Supergreen's pics are hit or miss. I saw one today in the "Show Us you aftermarket wheels" thread by DanRL07.

Here is Blazing's former ride with the entire kit though. I think the front bumper is a major improvement.

Haha i assumed it was black chrome cause i didn't even know they made a regular chrome one. plus my wheels look a little darker than regular chrome wheels from other companies. or maybe its all that brake dust that i can't wash!

everyone who posts about aspec wheels for rl always write ebony or black chrome that i read before this thread my bad.

on the aspec body kit - the front lip is what gives the car hte whole new look. the rear looks nice.. the sides are virtually unnoticeable.

honestly.. bang for the buck.. the best setup is the front lip ONLY, then add the OEM mudguards. the mudflaps will give the car a visually lower loook on the back of the front wheel well.. where it visually lines up with the lower front aspec body kit.. if you did the front lip kit and NO mudflaps.. the front of the car woudl look unbalanced and too heavy b/c it woudl be lower... but the mudflaps balance it out.

many RLs came from the factory with the mudflaps..mine did. if you don't have them, they are really cheap to add.... far cheaper than the side skirts or rear kit.

add the front lip, mudflaps, drop your car, and it would look substantially better than stock... for a lot less money / less labor cost vs installign the full blown kit.

and when you look at yoru car fromthe front.. or someone looks at you in their rear view mirror.. you still have that cool asepc front lip kit look. only an RL fan would know you are lacking the whole kit... so basically 99.9999% of the world will just think you have a neat body kit / lip kit and have no clue you are missing 2/3 of the kit.

good luck.

Are these 19" MDX wheels a straight bolt on the RL or do they require spacers?

Sorry not sure if I seen them on a sight or eBay. But they are nice for a oem 19" wheel. And a little more aggressive look than RL aspecs. Not sure on bolt pattern myself.

since it's february of 2013 i'm guessing you already have the wheels picked out and installed, story of my life, late for everything. black chrome would have been my choice. got pics?
