Alignment issue

I just replaced the Michelin factory tires (2nd set) at 70,000 miles, with Kumho Ecsta. Wow! quieter and more responsive handling.

What I noticed is the inside shoulder of the tires was worn at a 45 deg angle about a good half inch wide. No cord was showing but was worn smooth. The centers were worn down to the wear indicators. Car has never been abused and never had an alignment.

I have seen a lot of wear patterns in the years of working on cars, just nothing like that.

If you have seen this, what did you find out was the cause? Toe-in? Toe-out? Camber? You could almost make the case of the tires being pointed toe-out to wear like that and still hold the road.

I am making an appointment with the top shop in our area for a 4 wheel alignment.

make sure toe is set to 0.

it seems as if 7 years without an alignment took its toll. toe is off and needs to be set back to 0.
toe will eat/kill tires.
