19" mdx rims - help ?

Did anybody put 19" MDX oem 5 double spoke wheels to RL 05-11 ? Pics would be the best help to make decision whether they fit or not to RL.

Thank you
Michael

They don't fit due to RL's caliper size.

Mdx rims

Well, I thought these are the ones, which are in the picture. There are many sellers at ebay, who offer them to RL.

Are you sure these 19" wheels will not fit RL due to calipers, if there are original 17" wheels ?

You can shim the wheels or have the caliper machined a bit to make those rims fit. An Acura dealership told me this.

For the first time ever I think a small spacer would actually be a safer option.

I dropped the car on Sunday and put the wheels on for 1 day then they get sold. Atleast I got a pic with them on the car with a drop.

Honestly idk the size of the spacer but I can tell you it was just the right amount needed. Nah no rubbing at all. These wheels are gone just waiting to put another set of wheels on. A local is selling a set of 2010 rl wheels. Kinda interested.

For anyone who is still looking for information on the MDX wheels:
  • I measured with a caliper, used old crush washers to imitate a spacer, and found that a 7mm spacer would probably work with a bit of sanding to the brake caliper.
  • For me, I found 7mm wouldn't be considered safe enough to run on stock studs since the amount of complete lug turns was decreased.
  • I then found the extended studs a member previously made a post about which are 10mm longer than stock. With that, I ordered some custom 10mm hub centric spacers.
Here's how it looks lowered with 10mm spacers on 245/40/19 tires. Note: There is no rubbing (even with a heavy load in the back) or issues when fully turning. Someone else with the same wheels told me they used some 15mm bolt on spacers and had no issues making a full turn but I prefered slip on spacers.
