Do i need anything else like or can i just installed the muffler with tip? ill start to keep everyone posted as soon as get allowed to make post. ill have a sick looking rl by the end of the summer. my plan is to put m3 rims replica 19 inch but i heard they dont fit becuase you have to have some kinds of springs. and where would i find aspec kit like tj has? What kind of rims would you recommended for a blue acura? Black chrome m3 m5?

YOu sound excited lol... but its all good. you have a very nice ride and you are 16 good job on that... wish i was 16 and driving a car like this... but whatever...

Now about modding your ride. My suggestion is take your time do it right the first time... don't be all over the map with your ideas.

second start your on thread so people can suggest things. Don't hijack another members posts. start your own and people will come in there and make comments. this will be fun and exciting for you and pricey... selling IPAD won't be enough just saying. have fun with your car but be smart.

just saying... have fun...

Sorry Tjay for using your thread, but I don't know where else to help this kid out.

Razz, be careful on the BMW replicas. That set is staggered (i.e. the back 2 are wider than the front 2.) This can cause serious problems with an AWD car if your tire diameter is more than 1% off. Your safest, easiest bet is to get all of the same width. For 19", 8.5" width works beautifully. As for the springs you are mentioning, you should not have any problems with your springs if they are stock or OEM. What you will have problems with is your front brake calipers. The RL's brakes are pretty big, and they can be a pain in the ass to clear. Also make sure you are getting 5x120 bolt patterns.

Like Chi-town said, take your time and you will be better in the long run. Measure twice, commit once.

Also, IMHO, I would not stick $95 Magnaflows on my RL, but that IS your choice so best of luck with that.

I had my kit on when i did my exhaust. I had my resognators removed and 2.5" pipes done all the way to the back with the magnaflows at the end. Only thing i did wrong was order the mufflers with the tips too short. Tips sit 2" behing the end of the muffler. other then that it sounds good and looks good. I havent felt any changes in performance i lost gas mileage due to the fact that i mash the gas now to hear the exhaust(bad habit). Magnaflow has been around for a long time and they make good exhaust and mufflers just cause a wholesale company sells them for $95 does not mean its not good quality. I do my homework before i install anything into my car. I dont copy off other cars on forums. $500 for a great sounding and looking exhaust is a lot better then $1500 to reach the same goal. I have been building hondas since 94 and always do things my way. those who dont like it, dueces!

I guess I was assuming that if a performance company can't build a setup for less than $1k, then a $200 setup would be a fraction of the quality or performance. I am also semi-biased in that when I hear Magnaflow, I think of all the kids in HS that bought a Z71 and put Magnaflows on it so everyone could hear them when they arrived. I certainly can't attest to their performance or quality, but I am not a fan of loud exhausts especially if it sounds like a tejano's civic. Then I think of the definition of ricey from urban dictionary,

"Making a car "ricey" simply means spending the bare minimum on modifications that instead of helping your car perform better, sound better and/or look better, they actually do the opposite." If I were to spend money on an exhaust system, I would want to get as much HP as possible while maintaining a clean note.

Don't take all this the wrong way Tjay, I like your car and the way you have taken care of it and am in no way calling it "ricey". I know you have put valuable time and money into your ride. That is commendable and respected completely. Like I said, I don't know much about Magnaflows, I am making uninformed assumptions, and may be biased against them. If you like them, go for them.

i customed made my exhaust also... 2.5 piping and removed the cats... i have two resonators so it doesn't sound loud as hell... still makes a loud vrrooooooom!!! and i too lost gas mileage b/c i go thru a tunnel and there i go vrrroooommm!!!

but i did't pay no 1500 for my exhaust... paid a fraction less than that...

Thanks for the advice everyone. Didnt mean to steal you thread but since im a new member Acura zine won't let u start a thread because you have to wait 15 days and make five post. I'm not trying to put a a shitty muffler on my rl I like the sound tjay has it sounds like a c63 amg. Another thing I was gonna ask tjay do you hear the exhaust in the car?Chitown I want to listen to ur exhaust do u have a video I bet it sounds awesome.
So far Only thing I got is the Acura music link 100 bucks total. And zelaya I'll have a picture up in 15 days according to acurazine rules I can't start a thread.

Don't listen to me on what's a chitty muffler and what's not. Just make sure it's what you want, and you can add some HP doing it which is always fun. I'm not really into mufflers. I prefer the l-e-r less ones!

I have hella air horns and train horns behind the bumper grille. Teins are still sitting in the living room along with a ton of electronics waiting to go in. Just been lazy lately.

Thanks boss! James Bond never let's his guard down.

Tjay, how often do you toot your horn man? I would love to see people jump as I drove by. Doing it with stock is fun, but your setup almost seems diabolical.

I take pride in having a 6foot range on my horns. I honk them and people jump 6feet. I actually did aome work on my car yesterday and added 3000k hid fogs again. Waterproof ballast and igniters this time. Unfortunately I will be selling the works cause im doing a lot of commutting for work now and dont wanna break or damage or have them stolen when im working. If i cant enjoy them then I shouldnt have them.

I dont believe in buying new, its against my religion. I bought a certified 09 tsx 4cyl white/ parchment interior tech package. Low miles good on gas. trying to save money for the house. plus i was sick of the rl.

wow.. you put so much work into your RL... now it's gone..

mind if I ask.. why were you sick of the RL? not sporty enough? or was yours having mechanical problems?

I have had quite a few TSXs as loaners. I think they are fun little cars..although I'd rather have the V6 version than the 4 cyl.. although the 4 banger will be good on gas.

a nice set of wheels/tires/suspenion and a little TSX will be lots of fun in the turns.. FWD or not.. it handles nicely.

take care.

Dude, I know you are new to the site and all, - welcome to AZine by the way - but you are so late to this show that Tjay got bored with his RL and has moved onto a TSX 7 months ago.

Nice thread bump though. The thing to take away from this thread is that 20" chrome wheels in "da Bronx" are much more ghetto than tint.

HAHA.

So what is the best size wheel for an RL ?

And may I ask what the best coilovers are for an RL ?

Your SOLD RL looks good with 20"s. Not sure the best size though for an RL ?

I am from the Other Side-TL, where 19" wheels and Tein SS coilovers RULE
