Grats on the pickup! I've been searching high and low for a wrecked RL with the black wood...you should trade me mine plus a lot of cash for yours...haha But we should link up now that you're out here in the bay.

Thank you! The prelude I had was close to the same color. The prelude was midnight blue pearl. It looks black but it's blue lol.

Very nice brother. I had no idea the new rl was almost identical to our cars in terms of interior brakes suspension and a few other areas. Pretty cool that 05 model has same things as 2012.

Nice! I have an opulent blue pearl '07, so I'm biased in favor of such colors Also made the transition from a '97 to an '07

Very nice Mackie!

The 09 RL is actually quite different from the 05-08 RLs. The cars only 5 years old, you should have no problems. Your one of the few who have an 09+ RL, I'm the only one on the forum with an 11+ RL. Congrats, what mods you planning on?

also to answer terry. mods will be the normal suspension and wheels although some parties have expressed theyre dislike on how tense they are driving the white one so i think ill be going air on this. i have been reading up on the reqs and it looks like as of now i have to approach a manufacturer to possibly custom a set just so i dont have to cut/grind and bang on anything. until then for now itll just be small stuff here and there.

hey! 2 years! nice. still have this thing. gf moved here from chicago. got a tlx. modded tlx. got married. changed jobs after a decade. had a baby. put the tlx back to stock and now were here. ok all caught up.

i decided to just mod this instead of the tlx. the wife drives that now. i have jdm headlights and legend door sills that i got from iakonafuji. i also got his old air struts so hopefully i get to install all of it before i go back to work. i got a late start today so i didnt get alot done. i wanted to figure out how to install the bags and the sensors and if the wheels i have would fit.

cant work without this thing. it was a good investment.

theyre largus struts. i think the front is ailift and the rears are uas. used but works.

i bagged the tlx so im using the management on that on this. i didnt get to install the height sensors so ill be attempting to do it on the rl

so yea when i started i found this. someone hit the rear again. maybe ill just make a rear lip and have it all painted all at once.

this is the bottom plate for the bags. 4 holes needs to be drilled and tapped

the nubs is where its at

this is the top side.

had to drill the hole bigger to have the bolt head sit in and have it flush

looks like i need to at least roll the quarters. and since the wheels are 5x114, no adapters and i need to have them redrilled

dont mind the condition of the wheels. they where sitting outside for awhile. so yea i cant tuck 20s. boo

crazy camber but theres about 10mm more to move. its hitting the fender lip preventing full contact.

and thats it for the day. lets end it with crazy camber

Thanks! The tlx was bagged with airlift. With the 20s and 35 series tires it rode kinda bumpy but I really didn't fine tune the dampening on It either.

So today I made a tiny tiny progress. I can only do so much with the weather and a really tiny garage. Anyway I took the rear lca off to drilled and tapped the 4 holes for the plate. Hopefully tomorrow I'll start running the lines and harness.

And sorry for the Instagram filter. Apparently this is the only photo I have of the headlights and door sills when I was trying to sell them a year ago.

I've more or less ran the lines and harness. Hopefully I'll get a earlier start tomorrow.

I think I'll run the control pad wire right through the middle then come up through the center console armrest.

I also got a hanging bracket and tank from because bags. Won't be done till sometime next week so I'll have to temporarily hook it all up. I'm afraid the front air lines may be too short for the hanging bracket. Guess we'll just cross that when we get there.

whats up! Your car looks clean as heck! I also wanted the rlx ones but I don't know if it would clear the brakes. I know the tl ones wouldn't clear the kb1s. Not sure if it's the same as the kb2.

I I actually made a group on fb for kb1 and kb2 owners! https://www.facebook.com/groups/523004741239242/

so today today I actually got up a little earlier. Finalized the Harness and lines but I found the lines are too short to use for the hanging bracket so I'll have to redo those when it comes in. I just used the tlx false floor to temporarily hook everything up.

Finally got it sort of done. Just need to secure all the lines and harness and Put the interior back together.

Actually the technology of bags have advanced a lot. It's hard to find a blown bag nowadays unless it's rubbing or something. The cost isn't that bad either if you just piece it together or find deals on the management.

i saw your thread about the aero pieces youve seen on that rl with the rlx wheels. got me looking into it. it looks like even the sides and some front pieces from some toyota crown athletes can possibly fit!

got to adjust dampening the best i could. rides like you wouldnt want to drive it everyday.

also got the jdm headlights on. found the blinker connector is different from what the old ones had. had to rig it a bit to make it work. going to have to fix that in the future.

and then the legend sills

hoping to get a legend grille at some point.

now i want to use the bazreias i have. im thinking of just running adapters since 5x114s are a lot more readily available. that means itll push it out. im thinking to have the fenders pulled. the thought of radiused fenders are also a possiblity. now i know the front and rear bumpers need body and paint so i need to find a shop around me that would do this for a decent price.

for now i need to rebuild the wheels. need color ideas. bronze might be a thing.

253RL did bronze wheels, but it looks like his pictures are no longer being hosted. I vote against bronze. Maybe if the car was white, but blue and orange are opposites, and that can become a clash of colors real quick.

i live close to the beach but high up on a cliff so everyday it fogs up, gets sand on everything, dries up and repeat. Anything polished gets wrecked so I want the lips coated with something. I saw this and was leaning towards it. gunmetAl face' anodized bronze lips and maybe gold bolts and letter.

And today I picked up the bracket. They were kind enough to also provide me with the isolators but there was a breakdown somewhere that they didn't have a tank for me. He said they'll just ship it to me when they get it in.

Also the right front and left rear is loosing air. The right front actually airs out overnight. I'll have to fix those at a later time. Good news tho. After adjusting pressures and dampening it rides so much better. Now I just need to install the height sensors.

There are dark shades of bronze that look really good with blue. I know what you mean about the orange with blue looking odd, but yeah, dark brownish bronze is all good.

I love polished wheels on pretty much all cars, especially our blue though. Too bad you cant go that route. I do like the dark bronze idea. And that sucks that the fronts are leaking, hopefully its something simple. Progress pics are sick btw good stuff!

I think it could look really nice, and the darker the better. I was just warning that any kind or orange showing through from an undesired mix could screw it up.
